Good price, good comics!, November 18, 2007
This review is from: Tomb Raider Compendium Edition (Paperback)
I really love Lara Croft, and here, in Catalonia, they didn't publish the whole collection, only the first twenty comic books, so when I discovered the compendium I wanted it, specially with the price it was at the moment in Amazon.
The graphic content was amazing, and the stories where good. The only three things that I didn't like where:
- The necessity to show Lara Croft again and again with very little clothes on, or taking her clothes off or naked. Yes, ok, she's a myth, an icon, but it got old after twenty pages or so of Miss Croft in too small nikinis that left most of her out than in.
- I didn0t like this need to have Croft falling in love with half the repertoire of males that appered in the comic book. While Chase Carver does make sense because they knoweach other and there are feelings, it dones't makes sense that she falls and so deeply for a monk she has just seen, and also doesn't make much sense herself kissing Kurtis Trent, specally because in the video game was some sort of chemistry, but they never did nothing. I don't know, but the Lara in the video games wasn't so concerned aout dressing herself up in order to seduce the male of turn as she is with that monk.
- And last but not least, the fact that there was a crossover and that the crossover wasn't all in the compendium. I know that there were Witchblade's and Evo's province, bt it would have been nice to have those two also in the compendium so we could get a better sense of the story.
Other than that, superb drawing and nice storytelling. A must have for fans of Miss Croft!

Not that bad, April 23, 2007
This review is from: Tomb Raider Compendium Edition (Paperback)
This product isn't as bad as the previous review mentions. While the stories are not canon with the games or movies, they do contain all the actions that we know and love about Lara Croft. The graphics are pretty good, and the stories are for both old and new fans of Lara. My biff with this product is that one of the comics in the book is a three-parter, which requires witchblade 60 and Evo 1 to complete.

Gadzooks, it's Lara Croft !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, June 13, 2008
This review is from: Tomb Raider Compendium Edition (Paperback)
Even though they didn't faithfully reproduce Angelina Jolie's lovely face when they produced these graphic novels, they certainly didn't go wrong when they drew her body !! This collection is certainly great eye candy for male readers, and the stories are pretty interesting too. The writing is halfway decent, although a few entries could have used rewriting. All in all, well worth the read for those who like graphic novel adventures, along with an occasional long glance at some beautiful torso shots. Try to pick up this compendium at a reasonable price, though. The 80-120 dollar range is way too much to pay for this. I got mine for 30 dollars plus shipping and (hint hint) it wasn't bought on the amazon.com site.
