5.0 out of 5 stars Tomb Raider: Game Secrets
This book is mostly a walk-through of the game which includes black & white screen shots and a description of what to do at each point. The screen shots would have been easier to follow if in color. Not every pick-up is noted, and Roberts said as much in the intro. If you get stuck and need more details, I suggest Tomb Raider: Prima's Official Stategy Guide, by...

3.0 out of 5 stars A great book to have
Even though this book is made for the PC, it works for the game consoles that Tomb Raider is in. It does explain each level, although some are a little hard to understand. I notice that they missed one secret in the City of Khamoon. The pictures are good to look at, but because it is in black and white, it's hard to see them clearly. It is a good book to have in...

5.0 out of 5 stars Tomb Raider: Game Secrets, February 29, 2000

This book is mostly a walk-through of the game which includes black & white screen shots and a description of what to do at each point. The screen shots would have been easier to follow if in color. Not every pick-up is noted, and Roberts said as much in the intro. If you get stuck and need more details, I suggest Tomb Raider: Prima's Official Stategy Guide, by Kip Ward. Ward uses color screen shots and mentions everything. I got both books and used Ward only if Roberts wasn't enough. If you're the type that doesn't want to be told every little detail--stick with Roberts. I very much liked the interview with the game's programmers in this book and would have liked that part to have been longer.

4.0 out of 5 stars The best Tomb Raider guide you can buy, March 4, 2000
This review is from: Tomb Raider Game Secrets (Secrets of the Games Series) (Paperback)
When it's all said and done, this book will be remembered as one of Prima's better guides. Author Nick Roberts is an obvious professional and details every aspect of the excellent Tomb Raider. While the guide is in black and white (so are the screenshots), the layout is definitely substance over style (which is, in this case, a very good thing). The walkthrough is detailed enough but not too complex, and the overall package is very simple and easy to read. The controls are all very accurate (even though they are for the PC), and Roberts knows what he's talking about. If you buy one Tomb Raider guide, make it this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is the book to buy to beat the classic Tomb Raider., April 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Tomb Raider Game Secrets (Secrets of the Games Series) (Paperback)
Prima has done it again, rolling out with another comprehensive, concise and very useful strategy guide for the hit videogame TOMB RAIDER. Good writing and detailed descriptions of all the steps to complete this adventure are well-written and easy to follow; if the pictures had been in color it would have been easier to pinpoint the location that the guide is talking about. Overall, a very worthy purchase and THE strategy guide to pick up.

4.0 out of 5 stars A definite need, but should be more descriptive., July 17, 1998

This review is from: Tomb Raider Game Secrets (Secrets of the Games Series) (Paperback)
If you have this game-you know it is very hard. This book contains all the secrets and how to beat the levels. But-it someimes could use a little more description. Even with that minor flaw, it is still a very good source.

I was 53 when I started to play the first TOMB RAIDER. It wasn't that long when I got to enjoy the best Playstation games ever, the TOMB RAIDER II and TOMB RAIDER III, using your book. Nobody's gonna beat the design and concept of LARA CROFT with guide books like yours. You bet I'll still play all TOMB RAIDER games there is to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Indiana Jones and Pitfall Harry have officially retired., March 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Tomb Raider Game Secrets (Secrets of the Games Series) (Paperback)
I usually felt angry at myself when I had to resort to reading a stratagey guide. Hence, I promised myself that I would not look at it anymore than strictly neccicary. Still though, this guide is worth all it's weight in gold, and written in a spunky and optomistic tone. A must if you're stuck, even if you don't like using stratagey guides like me.
