5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars! A great accomplishment!
This is one of the best PlayStation games I've ever played! The FMV sequences are stunning, especially the one right after the Burial Chambers level. You can save your progress at any time in the game (no more stupid save crystals). The objects in the inventory can be combined to solve puzzles, and unlike Tomb Raider 3, the puzzles don't take forever to solve and you...

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay for the ps, don't get your hopes up.
Well, being new to the Tomb Raider games, i just tried this game for a few moments on my new PlayStation 2. Whoa, this was not what I expected at all, in both a good and bad way. First, the good side.

I was always a Nintendo gamer, naturally with a Nintendo 64. In that case, this game was the first ps1 game I've ever owned. Knowing that ps came out much earlier than...

This is one of the best PlayStation games I've ever played! The FMV sequences are stunning, especially the one right after the Burial Chambers level. You can save your progress at any time in the game (no more stupid save crystals). The objects in the inventory can be combined to solve puzzles, and unlike Tomb Raider 3, the puzzles don't take forever to solve and you won't find yourself running to the end of the level and then going ALL the way back to the beginning to use one lousy item. Lara has new moves, such as being able to shimmy around corners and climbing poles and ropes. The music is awesome! I often find myself staring at the title screen just to hear the opening music! Make sure not to play this game with the lights off, because some parts WILL scare you (ex: rivers of blood, mummys popping out of nowhere, armies of flesh-eating beetles). The environments are beautiful and the levels (especially the train level) are exciting. This game is a great improvement over TR2 and TR3. If you liked the original Tomb Raider, you'll LOVE The Last Revelation!

This has got to be the BEST Tomb Raider game in the series. I have played the demo, and the puzzels are so much more than just looking for a lever or an item. You have to combine objects and some of the puzzles really make you think in order to solve them. If you are looking for awesome graphics and exceptional brain teasers, this is the game to go with! 5 Stars for Fun because it is really a huge improvement over the previous games. 5 Stars for Educational because the game makes you think, working out that gray matter muscle. 4 stars for Durability because the recommended specs are a little beefy.

This is absolutely the best Tomb Raider game I have played since the first one. I really think that Eidos has learned from all of its mistakes, and put together a game that is truly magnificent. I vividly remember how the first Tomb Raider was such a phenonmenom, and the last 2 didn't really live up to my expectations (especially Tomb Raider 3). However, I am very happy with this particular game and just hope that it is NOT her "Last Revelation".

I just recently have found myself owning a Playstation, and you need games to use it properly right? Well I rented this gem and let me tell you...what fun! I had never before in my life played any Tomb Raider title, I knew that they were quite popular so I thought that I'd give it a try. At first I was really mad-I own a N64 so I was used to a certain kind of game control, and it wasn't the kind that Tomb Raider The Last Revelation uses. I kept thinking "What is the big fuss-you can't even control her! What is everyone thinking! . This is so twisted and sick". I worked at it and soon found out why Lara's adventures are wildly popular. They are so fun! I got used to moving Lara(I don't use the joystick)and soon was having so much fun that I never want to put the game away. Searching through the ancient Egyptian tombs is a blast. I am really into to Egypt so I may be a bit partial to the scenrio...but I can't help it. So far the game is quite a challenge, it makes you think; finally accomplishing whatever puzzle you are stumped at it a great feeling, and I don't look forward to returning it(which means I have to make a purchase very soon). I ordered Tomb Raider Classic because it was a good price(...-you can beat that) and I think I should start at the beginning anyway, but don't worry I will pick this title up too.The graphics are great and the training level was very very helpful. Like I said I haven't played any of the other games in the series but I look forward to trying those out as well. When all is said and done this is a great game and I am very happy to tell you about it.

I bought this game from my local retailer (sorry Amazon.com, didn't want to wait till after Christmas for it)last Friday, and with the help of a walkthru I found on the Tomb Raider newsgroup, am up to the 9th level of the game. If you are considering getting this game, buy or reserve a Prima Strategy guide for Tomb Raider:The Last Revelation. Some secret places are easy to find, others are hard to find.

This is the game that started the Third-Person game craze, so buckle up, it's going to be a bumpy ride. Oh, and get a Playstation Memory Card. With Vibration turned on in this game, you feel every bump, drop, and nibble that the enemy gets from you, if you have a Dual Shock Controller for the Playstation.

I Looooved it!

This game was great! For those of you who put the Tomb Raider 2 and 3 discs back into their cases, never to play again, here's a chance to get introduced into a whole new Tomb Raider game, with a little of the original in it. This game was awesome because of the cool new vehicles and moves. I loved the jeep and the motorbike. I like the new shimmying around corners idea, too. Lara can now climb up bamboo poles and swing on ropes. The levels are really cool now; there is a level were Lara has to find her way through a speeding train! The new cut scene technique is nice because there are no pokey loading times between them, like Tomb Raider 3. If you thought that the last 2 sequels weren't tomb radin', this is the one to keep.

TR:LR is excellent! The story, the graphics, the gameplay -- even the replay value -- are top notch.

I was worried when I read that this TR would return to the first, in that Lara would primarily search Egyptian-like tombs and areas. I thought this meant the environments would get old, but they don't at all. The places Lara explores are all related, but there are still tons of nice surprises (like a level on a speeding train), without the zaniness of TR3 (like Area 51 and pitch-black London skyscapes). Gone are the incredibly hard, unclear objectives of TR3, as well as the stupid vehicle levels.

There are even new features to this game -- you can save more than one game on a card (though it takes two spots per game), you can collect different types of ammo, combine items, and use laser-sight add-on and binocular/flashlight items.

This game definitely deserves a look. If you're a fan of the series, but it right away and you won't be disappointed. If you're new to them, rent it (or buy it, even) anyway.

I like the way this game looks and plays. As a fan of the series I am glad to see TR: Last Revelation more like the first game rather than the Third game which was frustratingly difficult at times. New comers to the series should enjoy this game as well for it has plenty of challenge and adventure to offer.

...the pleasure of playing a game belonging to the Tomb Raider series. The first game of the 4 series installment was relatively easy, but there was a meager cinematic ending, so a lot of people who DID bust their butts felt very cheated. The second was a little more difficult, so many more locations visited and so many more secrets to uncover. So many more ways to die! Again, not an ending appreciative of the time put into the game by people less skilled than the average Tomb Raider expert. The third was simply impossible - my copy is currently collecting dust next to my other pain in the neck game, Final Fantasy VIII. It is virtually impossible to play TR3 without a strategy guide and numerous replays of saved games after you fall, get impaled, get beaten or burn alive going through the infinitesimal obstacles created by fascist and vile programmers behind Eidos's glorious name.

Finally, they bring to us the simplified and enjoyable installment of TR4, which is solely set in Egypt where tombs are revisited and the story line is much more intriguing. Very Indiana Jones, except there's no grail and no seductive female character to throw him off track. The seductive female here is the protagonist. This is the other detail that attracts me to this game. I love to see a woman that can kick this much butt!

A strategy guide is a tool here only if you are completely stuck, because the clues and mazes are a lot more decipherable than the previous tricks and traps in the last two games. A must have for the TR gamer, and a lot less frustration for the ones who aren't especially attuned to Eidos's format. It's dollars well spent, but the only thing I can't tell you is whether the ending is worth it. I can only hope for the best, but the ride along the way is enough to keep from boiling over about a cheap ending to a superior game.

This game is amazing. The graphics and tasks are great. The only problem is controlling Lara. It is hard at first, but you can get the hang of it. The game is very challenging and you might have to play for a long time to figure everything out. I think this game is a must have and I would recommend getting it. The game is a little bit long, but playing it provides with so much fun. I got hooked to this game the moment I started playing. There are many secrets and interesting events and items to pick up and use!
