Lara Croft is one of the most successful video game characters of all time. A British noblewoman who travels the world seeking out lost treasures, she is James Bond meets Indiana Jones wrapped up in Cindy Crawford's body.

In this book veteran comic writer Dan Jerkins and artist Andy Park deliver over 200 pages of story and art. For some odd reason the publishers decided to call it a Tankobon, Japanese for collected edition. Which is weird since none of these stories nor the character is from Japan. The point is tons of comics for cheap.

These stories were originally color comics but the black and white reprints are clear and crisp. Jenkin's scripts are action-packed, Lara can't get in a car without there being assassins in the backseat. Park's art is dynamic and sharp, it reminds me of Jim Lee's.

The stories are filled with adventure cliches. There are ninjas, and dinosaurs and explosions and evil conspiracies. It's not deep, it's not too original, but it's fun.

This is a pretty good way to spend $10, you get cool adventure stories with a consistent creative team for not much money.
