4.0 out of 5 stars Tomb Raider, August 25, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Tomb Raider: The Trilogy (Mac) (CD-ROM)
I have played and own all three games in this set. But I suggest getting them seperatly. Tomb Raider Gold, and Tomb Raider 2 are very good, organized games. Tomb Raider (Gold) is about Lara's quest for the Scion of Atlantis. Enimies are many different animals, and a few humans with the intent to beat Lara to her goal. Although challenging in some parts, it is a very fun game, and is appropriate for people ages 12+. The Gold levels feature her return to Egypt in search for the Temple of Cat (yes, there are mummies), and then lands her in an alien world with new creatures and adventures. Tomb Raider 2 is not as good as the first one. Lara searches for the Dagger of Xian. Her journey is interrupted by rabid animals of many kinds, cult members, and monks. It is easier than the first one (still challenging though) and fun. It is more violent than the first game, though. 13+ should be the age limit on this one. I was very disappointed in Tomb Raider 3, which is the reason I think you should buy them seperatly. Tomb Raider 3 is hard, and confusing. If the game hadn't been a present from my sister, I would have returned it for a better one. Yes, it may have new features, but you will feel extemely frustrated and confused, lost in the level, Jungle. If you get this game, I would recommend getting the Stategy Guide (if it exists). About Tomb Raider 3: Lara searches for artifacts of the existance that the Polynesians existed on Antarctica. Several are scattered across the globe, bringing Lara to new, exoctic locations. (:::yawns:::) Eidos and Core Design could have done better. Although Tomb Raider 3 is a bore, don't let that stop you from buying the other two. I strongly reccomend Tomb Raider Gold, Tomb Raider 2. Others in the TR series worth getting: Tomb Raider: The Lost Artifact, Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation: Tomb Raider: Cronicles.

5.0 out of 5 stars Three Great Games from my Favorite Series, June 20, 2002

Chris W. (Kansas City, Missouri, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tomb Raider: The Trilogy (Mac) (CD-ROM)
From the ruins of Rome to the futuristic setting of Atlantis, Tomb Raider takes the gamer through a variety of wonderful worlds. I believe that the games of the Tomb Raider series are among the best games ever made, and I know that they will all certainly become clasics. This combination pack is ideal for anybody interested in becoming a Tomb Raider.

The scenery in the Tomb Raider series is better than that of most games, although it is mostly cubed and flat. The game play and plot are wonderful, and the graphics and sounds are great. Laura's moves and weapons are limited in the original, but by the third version they are wonderfully expanded.

I would recommend this game package to any fan of the Tomb Raider series and to the average gamer. The gamer will find something they like in one of the three versions. The original game stays in the tombs and has the best plot. Tomb Raider II offers wonderful AI and is perhaps the best for a gamer seeking combat, while Tomb Raider III combines the better aspects of the previous two. I highly recommend purchasing this package to try out the series. If you like it, I highly recommend the next two games in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most excellent!, November 27, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Tomb Raider: The Trilogy (Mac) (CD-ROM)
I love this trilogy set. It's a great adventure. I can play for hours. It's also fun seeing Lara become more digitally sophisticated from one game to the next as the developers and technology improved. TR 1 is set mostly in tombs and caves, whereas the others are mostly not in tombs. If you like Indiana Jones, get this set!
