4.0 out of 5 stars at last (well, kinda)
I am a Tomb Raider fan since the beginning. I have a PS2 and was really wanting that version of the game, which has been inexplicably delayed until possibly the end of January. But I saw that there was a DS version and since I own a DS I figured I'd give it a shot, since I don't want to buy a next gen console at this point, and I have no patience LOL.

3.0 out of 5 stars So-so
This game isn't bad, but it's really not that good either...

Pros:

+ Gameplay is not plagued by bugs like the consoles versions (e.g. ps2, 360, etc.) such as clipping.
+ Finding treasures awards the player with character/level concept art.

Cons:

- Levels usually take 0-4 minutes to finish.
- The game actually has...

This game is very nice on DS. The graphics are amazing and I havem't had any bugs. Of course it is 2D but it looks so real that I keep forgetting that! I keep trying to run in the background and whatnot. In that respect I am very pleased that it is such a hig quality game.

The game itself is not very hard and I have heard rumors that it is quite short like Legend and Anniversary were. I do not know if it is more simplified for DS, but it is quite easy for the most part. There are some simple tetris like puzzles and some artifacts. The game has a limit on health and guns and I never seemed to have a problem with what I had in stock. Once I got used to the controls (because I usually am not the one playing the DS) it was no problem getting around.

Overall I am quite happy with the game and even though I know the PS2 will be better because of the 3D nature, I am not unsatisfied with the DS version, in fact, it exceeded my expectations! The game is simple but if you like Tomb Raider I think you will enjoy this little romp with Lara Croft.

- The game actually has loading times... You might wait 10 seconds for a 2 second level intro to load before being forced to wait 10 more seconds for the actual level to load. These don't bother the patient person (me), but they do constantly break up the flow of the game as levels are extremely short.
- Puzzles are very easy and often take less than 3 seconds to solve.
- Treasure collecting follows one very basic rule: If you can jump it, there's a treasure in it. Meaning: Explore all pits instead of assuming they will be the death of you.

I paid $9 for this game. I would consider that worth my money. Had I paid full price back when this was released then I'd be pretty angry.

I Like all the Tomb Raider games that have played whether it be on Nintendo DS or my playstation. I even liked the movies as well. I like the action and the adventure of the game.
