Totally in agreement with the 5-star reviewer... We live in the desert where scorpions are, well, unfortunately, a reality. And with 2 kids under 5 and another on the way, I'm taking the extra precautions. Like the other poster said, you'd be amazed what you catch with these things. Last summer we started putting these in the corner of our master, based on the suggestion of our exterminator (he wanted to see our activity). I was skeptical at first because I didn't think bugs would be crawling in those areas--I mean, I certainly didn't SEE any. Boy was I wrong! I was horrified! over the course of the summer, we caught spiders, roaches, scorpions, centipedes and other little things. I put them in the kids' bathroom and yup, caught some scorpions and centipedes. These are not meant for mice or heavier critters, as I've actually witnessed some of the larger spiders (mostly the ones with thicker legs--and they're by no means that huge) trying to and successfully escaping after getting stuck. Some of those spiders are determined! Fortunately, scorpions and centipedes can't escape because of the flatter nature of their bodies.

A MUST in your house if you want to control your critter problem!

Put some duct tape under the trap or tape it down on the sides to hold it to the ground. Your mice won't escape.

I already wrote a good review for the more expensive TomCat glue boards that are smaller, thicker & black. They are the one's I normally use but yesterday my store only had these white flat traps so I bought 2 packs. When I opened them I was disappointed. The glue didn't seem as thick as the black traps & I was afraid it wouldn't hold the mice. After reading some reviews here I got even more discouraged because the majority said they were great for catching bugs with no mention of the Mighty Mice. Anyway I always place the traps in a small cardboard box with 3 to 4 inch sides. This makes it difficult for them to drag the trap away & also is easier to dispose of the critter. After years of trying cheese & peanut butter I now only use Cheez-Its. Mice love crackers & cheese. Anyway I put 2 traps side by side in a box with Cheez-Its in the center & some laying in the box to lure them in. 4 hours later I had one. He had all fours on the glue & it held fine. Then I came up with the best idea I ever had for disposal. I took a large plastic cup I had from a fast food place & placed it over him & pushed gently. The cup adhered to the trap & I could actually lift the cup with it attached to the trap with the mouse inside. Knowing the mouse was now not going anywhere I put the trap back down & an hour later had mouse #2 right next to him on the same board. Another cup & I brought the trash can over pulled the cups up with traps securely attached & right in the plastic bag & placed outside. Score update ME 2 MICE 0. I then placed another trap & a few hours ago snagged #3. It was either a baby or a different type but he's history now. I LOVE these traps. 3 mice in less than 24 hours. I also like the fact that they are white. It makes it very easy to see if you trapped one as opposed to the black traps. Score Alert ME 3 MICE 0!

Our mice are both smart, and little stinking Houdinis. I had one mouse drag one of these traps 3 feet away from where I'd placed it and escape; the other 3 in the pack were completely avoided. The "kill and contain" type of trap worked much better, and doesn't leave the little vermin alive and squirming in pain and terror.

This trap will catch any kind of insect. It will also catch birds. In two days we removed about 80 fruit flies from our house. We then put the trap on the carport. The second day the trap was deployed it caught one of the adult wrens that had raised a family in our junipers. The wren was still alive when we found it. It had lost about half of it wing and breast feathers and one foot was stuck badly. I managed to free the foot, but had to cut many feathers to free the bird. When released it could not fly, but hopped in to nearby shrubs. We had enjoyed the antics of these wrens for months and greatly regretted this incident. If we use these traps outside again we will place them in cages that birds cannot enter. We have mainly used these kinds of traps to clean out cave cricket infestations in our garage and crawl space under the house. They work well, but we do not want to catch birds.

The cost for each unit (glue board) is EXCESSIVE! Since purchasing this item I have found a very similar product with a different brand name for just $0.50 per glue board. So, if you wish to buy many glue boards ... shop around!... you can save a lot of dollars.

I've several of these in locations around the house to catch the occasional insect or arachnid. They are non-toxic (perfect as I have pets), work well, and are easily disposed of when full. I dislike pesticides for environmental reasons, so these are perfect.
