I have several of these stations in garages ,sheds, and crawl spaces. They are the most effective product I have tried. With D-con, a few mice gobble down all of the bait in a few days. Sure, it kills them, but now the tray is empty and the remaining mice continue to wreak havoc. With these Tomcat stations, the mice eat a small amount of the bait (enough to kill them) and it turns off their appetite so they stop eating and leave the rest of the bait for their friends. I like this single station pack since the bait blocks are so effective I find little need for the packages that make you buy 8 or 16 1-ounce baits to get the station. I suggest buying one 16 ounce kit for the cheapest way to get extra bait, and as many of these 1 ounce packs to get the number of stations you need. My only complaint is how difficult it is to find the stations without a 10 year supply of bait blocks.

You have to stay ahead of mice, since they breed so prolifically. With traps, we never got ahead of the problem. With this, we've had some peaceful winters. I've been using them for years.

A month or two before the weather turns cold, I set them around the outside of our old farmhouse, and in the basement. We use them in an outbuilding, too. My sister uses them in a commercial greenhouse. A cat or dog can't get into the bait, and I think the opening is too small for chipmunks, which seem to stay outdoors. This just targets the mice, which are the only things that come indoors. They eat the bait when the station is placed properly along walls; all the bait from every station gets consumed by springtime. I've also had good luck placing traps and bait on my canning shelves among cans and jars; the space is confined so I can find the sprung traps quickly, and the mice seem to like that kind of place.

I like to get this done before the windows have to be shut. Invariably, there's a dead mouse we can't get to, and at least we can air the house out for a couple of weeks. I want them all dead and gone before winter! Don't ever put these out a week before hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner. You can just imagine what it was like.

I like that they're re-usable, though I don't like cleaning them and adding new bait; it's definitely a job for disposable gloves. It's more economical than the non-refillable stations, and I put so many out that it's cheaper this way. If I had unlimited funds, (or kids, who can open anything) I'd get the disposable bait stations.

Set and forget. I setup 3 of these in my house and my mouse problem disappeared. It did exactly what I wanted it to for 1/10 the price of an exterminator.

We are sorry that you did not achieve the results that you were expecting. This station is designed for controlling mice. If you are dealing with a rat problem the opening for this station may not be large enough for the animal to enter. You may want to see if one of our rat control products will fit your needs. If you have any other comments questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact us at www.tomcatbrand.com.

In re other post: years ago, the Bay Area school Districts were forced to use the politically correct Integrated Pest Management system (poison Free). Within 2 years the schools were overrun with Rats! It eventually took maintenance mgrs ignoring District edicts to kill all the Rats. Use poisons, and use liberally.

3 stars because it's easy to open, put in the bait station and easy to put out. I see mice have ate off of it but I have the same mice activity. It's just not working for me. I won't try it again unless I'm in a different location as maybe this type of mouse it's just not working on.

i kept this stuff out for ~1 week and i only had one mouse. the mouse ate about 3/4 of a brick of poison and never died. I ended up killing it with a classic snaptrap. pretty ridiculous it took a whole week and it still didnt die especially when the box claims that 1 block kills 12 mice.

Bought this after one of our friends dogs ate a small portion of the blue block I temporarily sat onto a couch. After that near-emergency, I bought these refillable a that are designed to protect kids and pets. Some you see on the internet are NOT refillable. Just know that as you shop.
