BLACKFOOT is as ferocious as a nuclear bomb attack. There is not one radio friendly song on this album. Yet it remains one of my favorites along with Maurader, Strikes, Flyin' High, No Reservations and Highway Song Live. What were Medlocke and co. thinking. This is not the album you hit it big with. I think they just didn't care at the time. However, you also have to wonder what band members of other Southern Rock Bands like Molly Hatchet, Lynyrd Skynyrd and 38 Special special think when they hear an album like this. If they are honest with themselves, they must be blown away. I know that if I was in another band I wouldn't want to go onstage after these guys. I would be blankin' in my pants. These bands all promote themselves as tough bar brawlers and [tail] kickers but BLACKFOOT is the real thing. There is no comparision. I know Skynyrd is a great band and appeals to a much larger audience and achieved greater successs, but BLACKFOOT's music has seared my soul and ranks far and away above anything any other Southern Rock Band has ever done. BLACKFOOT didn't get rich but they are the real bad... of Southern Rock. They are Legends.

Every southern rock n' roll band could only dream of rocking this hard! "Tomcattin'" was my favorite and still is my favorite of the southern rock bands. This album rocks without regard to music critics and record company A&R reps. This album is rocks so hard, I put it on for my 11 year old son and he asked, "wow, I can tell that didn't come out in the 90's!"

Man, I miss the 70's and early 80's.

This cd set Blackfoot apart from all the other southern rock bands by the band not trying to play in the "southern rock" style and thus not sounding like basically a Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, or Marshall Tucker copy band.

They took their hard rock influences and went for it, basically like what Elvis Presley did in the Sun studios, when he took his blues influences and got "real real gone" with rockers like "That's all right momma"

An absolute classic that anybody who loves, southern rock, hard rock, great vocals, great songs, titanic boogie with pinpoint lead/slide guitar and a dash of soul.

A truly under rated classic

The 2nd in a string of hard rock southern music, this is personally my favorite one, i guess because it's very underrated and it doesn't have the radio hits on it as did Strikes. But that's okay, because this has better songs, i think, like Gimmex3, Fox Chase, Spendin' Cabbage, and Every Man Should Know(Queenie), all more raging southern rock. Two other excellent songs are On The Run, and Street Fighter, both southern rock classics. The winning streak continues after this album.

When Ricky Medlocke belts out "I'm down right crazy as hell to do what I want to do.",in WARPED, he pretty much sums up the entire album. Blackfoot plays straight forward, @$$ kicking, rock on this follow up to "Strikes". For every fan that has this LP probably enjoys this one as much as anything they have done to date. "Warped", "On the Run", and "Fox Chase" are the cream of the crop here but every other tune is close behind. Once again fans will be blessed to hear Shorty Medlocke play his ledgendary harmonica in the prelude to "Fox Chase". Ricky once again shows how much range he has in his voice. It is just a shame that not alot of music fans have had the distinct pleasure of listening to and enjoying him and the rest of this very talented band. Tomcattin' is a great rock and roll album period!

Stack these songs against Lynryd Skynyrd's hardest rock tunes. From the opening track to the final fadeout of "Fox Chase," these tunes make the first Van Halen album sound like a demo. Medlocke's voice is also red hot throughout, and the dual guitars of Medlocke and Charlie Hargrett are perhaps the most blistering pair ever captured on a Southern rock (or any genre) album. Absolutely essential for Southern rock fans or anyone who has never heard the band.

Just the intro to "On The Run" lets you KNOW you're in for a special treat to some killer music!! Rick Medlocke is (in MY opinion) THE BEST singer of THE WHOLE SOUTHERN ROCK genre!! What a POWERFUL VOICE for someone who has had a collapased lung!! For me, its a toss-up as to which is my favorite Blackfoot album. Arguably their best album, "NO RESERVATIONS" (also their first) isn't even listed here. I'm PRAYING it will soon be available!! "RAILROAD MAN" is ALL-OUT KICK YOUR TAIL R & R AT ITS BEST!!!! I have a BRAND NEW, NEVER OPENED ALBUM (yes, ALBUM, NOT a CD or cassette) which I'D BE HARD-PRESSED TO EVEN OPEN, MUCH LESS THINK OF SELLING IT!!!! Long live BLACKFOOT!!!!

a must for a die hard southern rocker! if you like Lynyrd Skynyrd, the original band you'll love these guys!

Hard-edged Southern rock band that not too many people know about. Red hot riffs, catchy tunes that will make you tap your feet. Blue-collar lyrics, down to earth stories that's a little bit country, but backed-up by a heavy metal foundation. Recommended by those who have always liked old-school Lynard Skynard, ZZ top and 38 Special. Rock-on!

Of all their albums this one is the best. High energy and flat out just going for it. The entire band gives the performances all they've got and it shows. When you get in a wild rockin' mood, this is the one to reach for. Sensational!!!
