Stylish, Good for 20's-50's weather
on November 19, 2012
Bought this coat in light grey from a department store. Definitely pleased with the purchase. The coat has an inner, non-removable liner. The fit is slim. I'm 6'0, 160 lbs and a Medium fits me perfect. I could probably get away with wearing a large, but I prefer the slim fit. The jacket is well-constructed. It comes with a matching scarf that has a little loop sewn in that can attach to a button hidden behind the collar. You can obviously take it off if you'd like. It is a relatively warm coat, which I would feel most comfortable wearing in temperatures ranging from around 20 to 50 degrees F. It's not very thick, so if it gets colder than that, I don't think this will keep you that warm. As with most pea coats lacking bibs, your neck is left exposed to the wind and cold air, so a scarf is advisable. You can button it all the way up to protect your neck as well, but I think that would look a little odd. The pockets are deep and thankfully, angled appropriately. Aka, you can stick your hands in them comfortably, unlike those coats with the awkward, square/horizontal pockets which require you to twist your arms at odd angles to fit in the pockets.
Summary: Great, stylish, slim coat that should keep you plenty warm above about 20F. Would recommend something thicker for colder temperatures.
