This a CD with 80's music. Believe me that "A Shoulder To Cry On" will take you there. Just that song is worth the 12 bucks.

When I first heard A Shoulder to Cry On I burst into tears. Only Tommy could sing a song like that.

I've been a fan of Tommy's for who knows how long. I can't seem to find any other way to get his CD's except for by the net. But I'm from Canada and don't have any American money right now. But if you're thinking of getting this Cd, my advice is to get it while it's still here. Tommy's got such a sweet and beautiful voice. His songs are fantastic.

I used to have this album, like 10 years ago. I gave it away and forgot all about it, somehow I stumbled onto his webpage, and it all came back. It's a great album, I'm gonna get it again.

The Male Madonna,

Tommy Page, who would later be known for his #1 hit single "I'll Be Your Everything", first started his career with this self-titled debut album. The album featured mostly upbeat dance oriented songs which fell somewhere along the lines of Madonna, Expose', and maybe Debbie Gibson. For the most part, it worked well. The album featured many club favorites including the singles "A Zillion Kisses" and "Turning Me On", and album tracks such as the Madonna-esque "African Sunset", "Making My Move", and "Love Takes Over"; but suprisingly enough, the highlights of the album fall in the two ballads "I Think I'm In Love", and Tommy's first big hit "A Shoulder To Cry On". It was no suprise then that his follow up album would cater more to the ballads and less to the dance oriented pop featured on this album.

Tommy Page's Debut,
By A Customer

Before Tommy Page repackaged himself as a pop teen idol, he released his self-titled album in 1988. Discovered by the same man who found Madonna, Tommy Page didn't seem to fit into a specific categorization at first. His songs were high-energy pop, blended with mild techno rhythms, but never to the point that they sounded like disco. Instead, he was concentrated on a stylized musical pattern, for which he collaborated with artists like Arif Mardin (Bette Midler's longtime producer, and L.Russel Brown, who wrote for Leslie Gore in the 60s). The album will be a surprise for those who know him for his later efforts- but it is consistent and enjoyable. The highlights include "I Think I'm in Love" and the remarkable, beautiful "A Shoulder to Cry On" which may not be the song that shot him to success in America, but is every bit as worthy.

One of the talented artists in 80's and early 90's,

This is Tommy Page's debut album and it includes the Billboard hit singles "A shoulder To Cry On" which is pretty "hooky" as one will sing it along after a couple of times listening to it and it is one of those great sentimental ballads Tommy has ever written. Among the notable tracks are "I think I am In Love", which is a rather sad sentimental song, "Minetta Lane" a pretty sweet love ballad but sad, the upbeat danceable single "Turning Me On", "I Love London" the rhythm of which reminds me of Pet Shop Boys' "West End Girls" and A Zillion Kisses, album version, which is not as good as the A Zillion Kisses Big Beat Remix version which is only available on single, not on the album. Other tracks are rather weak and non-noticeable. This album is rather naive if compared to his later albums such as "Paintings In My Mind", "From The Heart", "A Friend To ely On"(For Asian market only), "Time" (For Asian market only), "Loving You" (For Asian market only) and "Ten Til Midnight" (Not commercially released in anywhere). In personally think that "Time" and "Loving You" are his best albums ever as both feature great musics that truly reflect his song-writting talent. Sadly, he could not sustain adequate fan-base and is surely an underrated talented artist.
