This review is from: Tommyknockers (Nevedomoe, Neobiasnimoe, Neveroitnoe) (Hardcover)
The first 250 pages I struggled to stay awake. The only exciting part during this was the rather funny Jim Gardener getting drunk incident. After the first 250 pages, the book gets better, but i cant say that it was the best King book. It was cool just cuz like you think wow what if that would really happen wouldnt that be cool, but personally i think that the book dragged on for far to long in the beginning. I like other King books better like the shining. Keep in mind that i am not a huge fan of sci-fi but if you are read this book.

This was the second book I have ever read by Stephen King and I thought it was wonderful as I was reading it but as I read a couple other books of his, I thought that they were better. I liked the Dark Half and Desperation for a good find

This book was amazing and one of the best i've ever read. Obviously Stephen King is not a childrens writer so children probably shouldn't read it. this book really lets reality go and lets you step into your imagination as much as you want it to. the main character is Jim Gardener and Bobby Anderson. One day they are walking through the forest and bobby trips over something in the ground. Bobby gets up and sees what she trips over and it is a piece of metal. When she touches it she hears this music that fills her head with thoughts she never would have thought of. Like ideas and inventions never thought of by the human race. Not yet anyway. after leaving the peice of metal by Jim Gardener's request she go's back to see just what it was. But this time she has a shovel and she will find out once and for all what that peice of metal is and what it means.
