2.0 out of 5 stars Time Travel Romance, Book #2
First of all, let me say that I have enjoyed other books that I have read by Barbara Bretton. I was startled to learn that this was not one of her first books that she wrote. The writing was juvenile and there was little chemistry between the lead characters. I found the heroine to be caustic with her speech and manners and wondered why the hero had any attraction for...

While I really liked Somewhere in Time (the first in the trilogy), I loved this book even more! The characters seemed more fleshed out and the passion and love between Shannon and Andrew was wonderful. I really don't have the words to convey how great this book is; I cannot recommend it more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Andrew & Shannon...., January 13, 2012
This review is from: Tomorrow And Always (Paperback)
Often times when a guy travels from the past to the future, he is made to look silly and stupid because he doesn't know anything about gadgets, appliances, or cars, etc.

But I must say, BB did an excellent job of keeping Andrew McVie intelligent. His descriptions of things were actually pretty funny.

I was curious as to why they never went to visit Harvard. Wouldn't Andrew have wanted to see it 200 years later? And wouldn't he have been the least bit curious to see Zane's house? And Emelie's? We're rarely told what becomes of a character's possessions and money because it's not always relevant, but not much time had passed when Andrew left Zane & Emelie to travel to present day.

I could have done without the mind-reading thing, or whatever that was supposed to be. The idea that Andrew & Shannon could hear the other's unspoken thoughts, selectively, of course, was just ludicrous.

Shannon was a delightful character, but I had a problem with her relationship with her 'best friend' Dakota. There was no bond between them. At all. Shannon wasn't even very nice to her.

2.0 out of 5 stars Time Travel Romance, Book #2, July 23, 2011
This review is from: Tomorrow And Always (Paperback)
First of all, let me say that I have enjoyed other books that I have read by Barbara Bretton. I was startled to learn that this was not one of her first books that she wrote. The writing was juvenile and there was little chemistry between the lead characters. I found the heroine to be caustic with her speech and manners and wondered why the hero had any attraction for her. Shannon Whitney is from the present (1993) and Andrew McVie is brought forward in time from Colonial America. Honestly, I am not even sure why Andrew came forward except to link up with Shannon and return to his own time.

This is the second title in a time travel romance trilogy: Somewhere in Time #1, Tomorrow & Always #2, and Destiny's Child, #3. It may have helped to have read the first but if it is anything like this one I am glad I did not waste my time. If you enjoy time travel and romances try some better ones such as The Mirror by Marlys Millhiser or A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux.
