Book Description

July 17, 2001
Surreal. Dreamlike. Incongruous images that play havoc with the subconscious. A twilight zone where anything can happen. This is where Tom finds himself one chilly, wet evening. While destiny takes him to the murky past that he has left behind, Tom has no control over these dark forces that impel him to take memory trips into those lanes he has no wish to haunt. Here he has to come to terms with his darkest deed.

In a smoky bar with a couple of strangers and an initially disgruntled bartender, Tom spends a night like never before, when his destiny merges his past and present.

5.0 out of 5 stars Drugs,sex, secrets:Novel promises Author a Bright "Tomorrow", August 12, 2001
This review is from: Tomorrow Never Comes (Paperback)
August 12,2001 News staff reports STUART - The notion of your life flashing before your eyes before finally fading into the great unknown is both cliched and comforting. Looking back on one's memorable moments would serve as a nice distraction before dealing with death - granted that the life in question featured moments worth revisiting.

In Tomorrow Never Comes, a new novel by Stuart resident James Salerno, Tom finds himself reflecting on his life with pals at a pub over a few pints and a game of pool. He looks at the wanton waste of his youth - spend on pot, pills and promiscuity - and recognizes regret, especially about a dark secret he's harbored so long it hovers over him like a storm cloud.

Now, however, Tom enjoys the quieter side of things, reveling in his relationship with his wife and children.

Then he exits the bar and enters the evening, unaware destiny will escort him on an unexpected date.

5.0 out of 5 stars Riveting, August 23, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Tomorrow Never Comes (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book. It was a true page-turner. I never read a book that captured the generation that I grew up in with such truth and frankness. I truly felt that I could relate to the main character, Tom. It was as if I knew him, and experienced some of the same things that Tom went through. James Salerno writes in an intriging style, one that makes this book a real pleasure to read. In fact I finished it in one night as I could not put it down. However, this book was made for a great reading weekend at the beach. Pick it up, you will enjoy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally a book about MY LIFE!, August 14, 2001
This review is from: Tomorrow Never Comes (Paperback)
WOW!!! I couldn't put this book down! I can absolutely identify with the Character, Tom Crespo. This book describes the way I lived my life so closely, it's was eerie. All of the Late Baby Boomers should read it, it's something we all can relate to. This book should also serve as a lesson of the consequences of living a "loose" life for todays teens. A Great Read, I highly recommend it.
