Editorial Reviews

The Real Rock 'n Roll Deal! The time has arrived, This is primal, archetypal, balls out rock that just does not let up for one split second and whose big beats and raucous hooks will change and inspire air-guitar wrestling matches. Filled with high-energy kicks, blistering guitar flash, arena-ready anthems, unforgettable hooks and catchy fist-pumpers-this is the barn-burner and five-geared raver that fans have been waiting for, and a breathless, potent cocktail for new ones. As always, filled with highly accomplished and inspired approximations of such sounds as The Who and The Move and a host of other pantheon-chiseled rock gods, all dressed up to party with The Shazam. Not Lame. 2002.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Real Thing ...Finally, May 20, 2004
By

This review is from: Tomorrow the World (Audio CD)
There are no need for comparisons here. The Shazam is simply 'The Shazam' - They Am What They Am. I couldn't believe what I was hearing on this album. "Tomorrow The World" is a rock 'n roll album - a real one. A great one. An amazing rock 'n' roll album by a genuine, 100% authentic rock 'n' roll band. This is one of those rare albums that will remain in your CD collection until the day you die. If the catchy, soaring melodies in "Gettin' Higher" don't grab you - then the rockin' guitar riffs of "Rockin' And Rollin' (with my) Rock 'n' Roll Rock 'n' Roller will. This album is pure rock 'n' roll spirit. Its clever enough to make a strong statement without being too serious. Its powerful enough to make you feel like the songs sound. Its inspiring enough to reignite your rock 'n' roll dreams and keep them alive. This album is a 'hit' - not because its on top of the charts - but because it has everything that all great rock 'n' roll albums have that make you want to know everything there is to know about the band, buy their t-shirts and posters, read all the linear notes and every lyric...this is the kind of music that makes people care about music. This is the music that means something to people. Buy this album. Don't wait around for J-Lo or Justin Timberlake to endorse it. These days you have to seek out great music. If you are lucky enough to discover "Tomorrow The World" then you'll find great music. This is one of the greatest, most underrated rock 'n' roll albums I've ever heard. Buy it, Listen, Love It, And "Squeeze The Day."

5.0 out of 5 stars Record Of The Year, February 6, 2003

Michael Baron (Fort Collins, CO United States) - See all my reviews

I concur with previous descriptions. An astounding record, filled with big hooks, big heart, and passion. Shazam take their cues from the Who and the Move as much from the Cars and the Plimsouls. "Squeeze The Day" stands out even among this collection--one of those rare, elegiac rockers that remind us of the fleetingness of life. Reminded me of XTC. But enough comparisons. Get the record.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Shazam - Tomarrow the World, March 9, 2009
This review is from: Tomorrow the World (Audio CD)
Great band! Lot's of energy with well crafted lyrics and hooks. I really think the vocals and harmonies are smooth....very (dare I say it)similar to those lads from Liverpool. I wish I would have found these guys sooner!!! You will not go wrong with this purchase.
