I use Tom's oral care products because they don't have harsh chemicals and they don't animal test. I'm glad they don't fill their products with sweeteners, but I do wish they could find a way to improve the taste.

I have enjoyed various Tom's products. In toothpastes, I have come to prefer the gel over paste, and it is increasingly difficult to find the gel on store shelves. I love the way my mouth feels fresh and clean, and how clean and fresh my teeth and mouth feel after brushing. I love the gel over the paste, and I was delighted to be able to find it online.

I am prone to tartar buildup and this is the only toothpaste that seems most effective at preventing tartar buildup for me. I have recommended it to all my family members and all of them have also switched over to this brand. Thanks.

Tom's of Maine Toothpaste
Tom's is a small company, employing fewer than two hundred people. It was founded in 1970 and then purchased by Colgate in 2006. Fortunately, Colgate has left Tom's alone to manage their business according to their original principles. Tom's makes natural products. The toothpaste contains no sugar, sweeteners, or artificial flavoring. By contrast, I looked at a tube of Colgate toothpaste that I have on the shelf. It contains "flavor," whatever that is, "saccharine," and "propylene glycol." The last ingredient is a less-toxic form of anti-freeze. One advantage of Tom's toothpaste is that we do not have to worry about ingesting poisons when we use it. I have been using Tom's for years. The toothpaste comes in many flavors. On Amazon, you can find Peppermint, Spearmint, Fennel, Orange-Mango, Cinnamint, Wintermint, Apricot, Soothing Mint, True Mint, and Gingermint, among others. I prefer the Peppermint flavor, which is refreshing, but not overwhelming. The toothpaste is available in sizes from 1 ounce to 6 ounces. I do not exactly live in a wilderness area, but my local stores no longer carry Tom's. Fortunately, it can be found on Amazon and other web sites. The prices do vary from vendor to vendor, so check for the best price.

This is great toothpaste. It has a mild taste and freshens breath. In fact it was the only kind I could handle when I was pregnant with morning sickness.

i've been using this product for a week now. it leaves my mouth feeling clean, fresh and i have peace of mind knowing there's not some weird chinese antifreeze or some such ingredient in it. also, there's not that inexplicable aftertaste that i had with my old gel. it takes a little getting used to because the "minty" part isn't anywhere as strong as what i've been getting in my 'traditional' toothpaste. i can see myself continuing to use this product. bye bye colgate.
