I was a little hesitant to try out this toothpaste, both because it was pricey and because I had never tried a natural toothpaste before. When using it, it definitely feels less harsh than regular toothpastes, but my mouth still feels clean when I'm done. I would definitely recommend using this toothpaste.

I have been using Tom's of Maine Toothpaste going on 15 years. Since moving to Arkansas it has been next to impossible in finding it. Thank goodness for Amazon.com to shop. Tom's of Maine has more flavors than provided online, we use to purchase it at Trader Joe's, but at least it is avaiable. No chemicals to mess up my body, which I am so sensitive too. My husband is very picky about natural toothpastes, but he's a big fan of Tom's of Maine's Spearmint toothpaste. He loves spearmint and tells me often how much he likes this toothpaste. It works well and I'm happy with this product. I highly recommend Tom's of Maine's products.

Tom's of Maine Toothpaste

Tom's is a small company, employing fewer than two hundred people. It was founded in 1970 and then purchased by Colgate in 2006. Fortunately, Colgate has left Tom's alone to manage their business according to their original principles.

Tom's makes natural products. The toothpaste contains no sugar, sweeteners, or artificial flavoring. By contrast, I looked at a tube of Colgate toothpaste that I have on the shelf. It contains "flavor," whatever that is, "saccharine," and "propylene glycol." The last ingredient is a less-toxic form of anti-freeze. One advantage of Tom's toothpaste is that we do not have to worry about ingesting poisons when we use it.

I have been using Tom's for years. The toothpaste comes in many flavors. On Amazon, you can find Peppermint, Spearmint, Fennel, Orange-Mango, Cinnamint, Wintermint, Apricot, Soothing Mint, True Mint, and Gingermint, among others. I prefer the Peppermint flavor, which is refreshing, but not overwhelming. The toothpaste is available in sizes from 1 ounce to 6 ounces.

I do not exactly live in a wilderness area, but my local stores no longer carry Tom's. Fortunately, it can be found on Amazon and other web sites. The prices do vary from vendor to vendor, so check for the best price.

Trying to eliminate harmful chemicals, so thought we'd give this a try. We really like this toothpaste. No artificial colors or flavors. Nice natural spearmint flavor. Cleans and rinses well, leaves a fresh natural feeling, not overwhelmingly sweet and chemical tasting. Will buy again!

Not only is this toothpaste totally animal-friendly (no animal testing nor ingredients - vegans rejoice), it's great! Keeps our teeth shiny and white, and my not-so-animal-friendly husband likes it just fine. My daughter uses the kids' strawberry flavor which is great too. We've been using this for years now and never going back!

We stopped using any products with PEG in it since it has been linked to breast cancer. I was amazed to see my old toothpaste had PEG in it. Works graet, good flavor, I just wish they had more SLS free options.

We get a great price on a product that everyone in the house uses. Can't beat the quality and taste.

This toothpaste is great! Since my switch to Tom's after using Crest for years, I had to use Crest one time and it tasted so chemical to me!
