Tom Tom Update Map,

Ordered this to update my TomTom 700 which was trying to get me to drive off the side of freeway overpasses that had been built after the original on-board maps had been installed. I followed the instructions on how to delete the old and install the new maps, but once I deleted the original map, the Tom Tom could no longer be recognized by the computer and is now an expensive paperweight. This update program is what it is holding down since they are now both worthless.

For $6.99 this product is a real bargain. I am working in the US for a few months so I brought my Go720 with me, European maps already installed.I bought this product instead of the download map from TomTom because of the price. However, if you are a Mac user it's not as simple to install. The product literature is Windows based, there is no option/advice for Mac users. The TomTom home interface is very different for the Mac and it took some frustration to get it installed. It does not allow the option to save the new DVD USA Map to the SD card, instead I had to delete my Europe map and replace it with the USA Map. That kind of defeats the object of having one device with several maps, but as I only paid $6.99 I'm not as mad as I would be if I paid the full price of $169.95! Now I have to figure out if I have to buy back my European maps again! Would have scored full marks otherwise

I bought this for my brother-in-law, who had purchased his TomTom while living in Europe. He wanted the North American maps after he moved back to the States. While these maps cost roughly two-thirds what a new device would, they're thorough and well-presented. If you've got a compatible TomTom system, go for it!
