Dolphin Dissapointment,

This toy did not reach even out lowest expectations- So many vendors are selling this cute toy that I guess we thought we couldn't go wrong. Definitely not a toy we will be able to use- the notes are not clear, the dolphins won't stay together. Save your money until a better version comes out.

This Symphony is Definitely A Washout,

As the other reviewers have pointed out, the dolphins don't link together well or play music reliably. You might get a pathetic little peep out of each dolphin and that's about it. The other negative about this toy is that it takes up a LOT of space. We have a large 6 ft tub, and these creatures completely fill the tub ledge. The idea behind the toy is cute, but I think it just wasn't achievable with the design/engineering chosen.

Mediocre at best,
This review is from: Tomy Water Symphony (Toy)
My kids (3.5 and 2) received this as a gift, and at first I was excited--it's cute and colorful. In theory, a great toy. However, my kids don't like it. Water gets inside the dolphins and when this happens, they won't make noises (easily remedied by shaking the water out of them, but my kids don't have the patience for this). They also get very frustrated that the rings that the dolphins sit in do NOT stay linked together. Slight movements that disturb the water will cause the chain to come apart. I'm sure that this would be a favorite bath toy with a few improvements made by the company.

Can't Carry A Tune,

While I wasn't expecting Mozart, Water Symphony just couldn't carry a tune in our tub. The tones were way too low --the sound of the plastic dolphins hitting against the plastic ring was most often louder than their "singing" And, with two kids in the tub, this toy took up TOO much room. Water Symphony had two performances before bad reviews from my kids closed it for good at our home.

We received this as a gift. While the concept is great, it's not a reality for our 22-month-old. His favorite part is whacking them with other toys to knock them over. Half the time the dolphins don't make the musical notes when you bop them. And the linking system (so they stay in a circle) is hard to keep together. Also, they fill with water, and our son likes to pick them up and throw them out of the tub, soaking whatever it lands on. Maybe when he's older, but I really don't recommend it.

I bought this toy for my 3 & 6 year old children. It was a great novelty at first to hear different pitches coming from the dolphins but 2 things became quickly apparent. First, the scale missed a note out which was frustrating for my 6 yr. old who wanted to be musically creative and second, you need a very delicate & well-controlled touch to make the dolphins produce a note at all. Again, this is frustrating for a child who can see the potential but can't achieve it. Both children settled on playing with the dolphins as 'characters' linking them together to make trains etc. but my 3 year old got very upset because the links kept breaking. One point in its favour, however - it's excellent for colour matching and colour recognition skills. Boys, especially, are far more likely to play a colour-matching activity in the bath than they are to sit down at the table with you! The toy takes up a lot of space & you seem to be picking up those dolphins forever when tidying up! Make sure you have plenty of space to put them!

My daughter received this gift for her first birthday. I was very excited because her bathtime entertainment had become pretty dull ... I should have stuck to plastic cups. The dolphins DO NOT sing ... you can barely get a noise out of them. Mostly she played with the rings that the dolphins floated in and we had fun practicing our colors. Too many pieces ... took up all the space in my bath net/basket ... I quickly phased this out and dolphins made their way into the trash. Avoid this toy.

This is the first toy my 2 year old selected on her own. Its appeal was lost on me: dolphins whistle when blown from their back end (yes, strange) and float on water in rings. But to my daughter, they're colorful, friendly and whistle various notes as submerged. Take these at face value and enjoy your child's enjoyment.

A good idea, not well put together,

We expect our purchases to be worthwhile, and we expect our toys to be a good value. This one is a great idea, but it's poorly designed, and so it's not a good value at all. The rings do not stay together in the water, so the dolphins float about aimlessly in the water. Very frustrating for our little ones. They have decided they have no use for this toy. so sorry to say that this mom believes this purchase has been a waste of money.

Ok, so, they don't make much music and they don't stay together. They still offer fun in the tub - my little one is learning his colors and loves to have these dolphins jump up and out of the water - yelling the color as they go flying across the tub. They don't trap mold or mildew - they've actually been quite fun for him.
