This item worked well for me. Instructions told me where to burn the 1/2" hole thru the cartridge, and supplied tape to cover over the hole when the process was completed. I used a 3/8" metal Pex pipe coupler, heated it with a torch (while holding it with as pliers), and pushed it slowly thru the cartridge wall for my hole. Plenty big enough. I was not even messy. Prints as well as the old cartridge, but not as well as a brand new HP does. But for me, it is more then good enough. A great value. I bought 4, since the shipping was pricier then expected.

And, "remember to always wear you safety glass" when working around tools...just kidding

I was a bit suspicious of the quality and ease of use when I purchased this; however, the high cost of the HP toner replacement caused me to take a chance on a low-cost alternative. When the toner arrived, I proceeded to take out the OEM laser toner cartridge; a quick look at the cartridge and the instructions told me that it is not as easy as just adding toner to a depleted cartridge. The instructions could be better, and ofcourse, in my case, I found out that a hole has to be made in the cartridge in order to add the ink. To do that, a hole-making device that looks like a soldering iron is needed. I wrote to Villanova telling them that they should have warned buyers that certain cartridges will need this soldering device in order to open a hole. They were not forthcoming at first, but eventually did send me a soldering iron, another bottle of toner, as well as refunded my origin purchase price. With the replacement toner and hole-making device, I am happy to report that instead of paying $60-70 for a HP cartridge, I will, from now on, just get the replacement toner at a fraction of the cost. I will try to post again to report on how many copies the bottle of toner can produce; so far, so good.

The HP toner refill did in fact meet my expectations. However, I purchased this item for it's magnetic properties. I used this product to make ordinary thinking putty magnetic. The results were amazing! Due to the extremely fine magnetic powder of the toner, the putty became very magnetic and reacts much quicker to a powerful magnet. Magnets of this type usually pulled all of the iron filings out of regular magnetic thinking putty. Not so with this product. The magnetic material stayed inside the putty.

This is a really cheap and environmentally friendly way to reuse your original cartridge, and I have to say with good conscience that it really works!

The kit included a toner bottle with a funnel cap, good instructions with pictures, gloves, and some foil tape. Make sure you put a garbage bag or some painter's cloth under the area where you'll be refilling your toner and have a garbage can nearby (to empty old toner). It's a dirty job, but if you protect your floor by putting something over it and wear the gloves, then the clean-up is very simple.

This toner REALLY works! My HP 1020 printer is back to its original printing quality after this refill: clear, crisp, and sharp. To me, it even seemed that the toner supplied here is superior to the HP toner, as my pages seem to look sharper now than with the original ink (before it got low).

WARNING: this kit DOES NOT supply a hole-making tool that you will need to be able to refill your cartridge. They mention it in the instructions but don't include it. So, you need to buy that hole-making tool separately. I guess it's fine since the item description is accurate, so I will not dock them a star for this, but you need to be aware that you do need to buy that hole-making tool separately with this kit.

Otherwise, excellent results! Highly recommended: cheap way to refill your original HP cartridge and keep it running!

Much to my surprise, the refill process was very easy, worked well and I am printing fine. That's more than I can say for other ink refills i've tried! I'd definitely buy again and recommend to friends!

Worked like a champ. Way better and cheaper than a new laserjet cartridge. It could get a little messy but totally worth it. The skill level to put this in is minimal. The only drawback is if you've purchased this but you don't have a way to melt a half inch hole in the cartridge. You need to buy or borrow a soldering iron to cut a hole, then pour in the refill.

I found it a bit awkward making the hole. I didn't buy the special tool, I just heated a 1/4 inch metal tube on the electric stove element, and held it with needle-nosed pliers. Filling with new toner and emptying out the used toner compartments was a bit messy - I used a lot of newspaper and had a few paper towels handy. However, I got perfect copies and who can argue with the price! I followed this Youtube video for my HP 12A cartridge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7oFSZZH3Bk
