5.0 out of 5 stars The Tonfa: One of the Most Under-Rated Martial Arts Weapons in History, August 30, 2006
The traditional tonfa is made from wood, and although it can be useful in hand-to-hand and defensive combat, the wooden tonfa is weak against blade weapons such as swords and can decay over time or splinter. Now, this modern tonfa by Valor is made from polypropylene (a very durable and dense plastic), is virtually unbreakable, and can definitely withstand the slashing blow of a katana without suffering even a nick. It is also compact and portable, well designed and well-balanced, making it very easy to master. I purchased two, allowing a person to take on multiple opponents all at once.
