I was given a Tongue Sweeper several years ago by someone who knew the founder of the company. It has faithfully served me twice a day for years. When I decided to step up my dental routine and scrape my tongue during workdays after lunch, I looked in drugstores but could not find a Tongue Sweeper and settled for another brand made of plastic. NEVER AGAIN! The other scraper seems flimsy and bends, and I don't think it scrapes nearly as effectively as my Sweeper. After a few weeks with the plastic model, I searched online and found the Tongue Sweeper, and ordered one just to keep at the office. The stainless scraper lasts years, and the shape makes it easy to use, easy to clean and very, very effective at scraping, plus the narrow design really cuts back on the gag reflex. You could pay a bit less for something that won't work as well and will break, or you could buy this model and enjoy it for many years.

The tongue scraper is as essential as your toothbrush for oral hygiene.
It easily removes bacteria and food particles that accumulate on the tongue. Once you use a scraper, you'll never want to be without it.
I used plastic scrapers for years, they crack and break. This nice stainless steel model is easy to keep clean and a perfect size. Love it - great purchase.

Update 2/1/2011. I really liked the Tongue Sweeper Original - however, it has broken at the point where the oval connects to the handle. This model is expensive for a tongue scraper, and I think it should have lasted many more years. You could buy a number of plastic scrapers for the cost of this one. Very dissapointed - two years isn't a good life for the Tongue Sweeper Original. It needs to be stronger and last a lot longer.
