1.0 out of 5 stars Soooo Predictable
If you want a boring, highly predictable, not-very-hot romance to put you to sleep at night - this is the book for you. I knew within ten pages what was happening, how it was going to happen & when it was going to happen, etc... I finished the book in 15 minutes by jumping from beginning to end to verify my prediction.

Brenda Jackson's "Tonight and Forever" is a touching love story of Lorren Jacobs and Dr. Justin Madaris. Both have lost at love. Lorren by the ending of an emotional, and towards the end, abusive marriage. Justin by the death of the woman he loved and cherished - his first wife. However, when Lorren returns to her hometown, she and Justin meet. Justin is in awe of Lorren at their first meeting. Lorren is hesitant about opening up and enjoying life again. She's afraid to trust after her marriage to Scott. Justin Madaris is just what the doctor ordered for Lorren. He is all the prescription she needs and Lorren is just what Justin needs. He wants to love again and believes that there is a special woman out there for him. It will take just one night for both of them to discover that they are meant to be together -- that night and forever.

4.0 out of 5 stars Meet the Madaris family and friends, October 8, 1997
By A Customer
This is first in the trilogy about the Madaris brothers: Justin, Dexter and Clayton. The brothers are from a very close-knit family of six children. This is Dr. Justin Madaris' story. The oldest of the brothers, Justin's wife died ten years before the book opens. Justin is smitten with Lorren, but she's getting over the death of her marriage to a physically and emotionally abusive husband. To say she's "gun-shy" is an understatement. The good doctor has a prescription for what ails her. Loren has a pre-affair agreement I wished I'd thought of. The book is a great introduction to fictional friends you'll get to know better in Jackson's sequels about the trio.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Madaris Family Novel, January 1, 2008
This review is from: Tonight And Forever (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Justin Madaris had loved his wife Denise, who he had lost to a brain tumor ten years ago. He now lived for his medical practice and his family. Justin was attending Mama Nora's sixty-fifth birthday party that Nora's foster children had thrown for her. Across the room Justin sees the most beautiful woman. Justin just had to find out who this lovely creature was. As he watched her across the room he was begin to have feeling that he hadn't had in a long time.

Lorren Jacobs had been one of the many foster children that had come into Mama Nora and Paul Phillips lives. Paul had passed away six year before, so the foster children wanted Mama Nora's
birthday to be special. Lorren marriage had ended in divorce; she promised herself that she was
off men forever. So why was she drawn to the tall dark and handsome stranger across the room?

Justin was attracted to the lovely Lorren and the more that she pulled away the more he wants her. Lorren had just ended her abusive marriage to a man who didn't think she knew anything,
she wasn't going get drawn into another relationship with another strong willed man, or was she?

Brenda Jackson will draw you to this story that will have you hoping that Lorren will take another chance on love. I loved the emotions of love that came through this story that will make you want to get the next story of the Madaris Family Series.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Amazing First Novel !!!!, March 8, 2004

I sort of started in the middle of my Brenda Jackson book list and worked my way backwards. If you can find this book, it's an excellent read. I just happened to find it on the shelf in Borders over the weekend and I was truly elated as this book is out of print and a hard find. Mrs. Jackson if you are reading this, please consider bringing this one back into print. I'm sure there are persons kicking themselves for not buying this book while it was out !!!!

From the beginning to end Justin and Lorren keep you rooting for both of them. Both have been through so much and deserve happiness. The little twists and turns that were included helped the story even more. I would recommend this book to anyone...

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful love story, March 7, 2008
This review is from: Tonight And Forever (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
I love the Madaris'. The men are smart, heroic, witty and GORGEOUS. This story was beautiful because both individuals brought some baggage to the relationship. They both needed to be restored mentally and physically, but in a very different. Together they find true love again that will last a lifetime the second time around. Thanks Brenda for this mature love story of hope and 2nd chances.
