THIS ALBUM IS INCREDIBLE- 10 STARS!,
By DAVE (Detroit, MI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Tonight (Audio CD)
where do i begin? this is perhaps the GREATEST R N B RECORD OF ALL TIME! this album is a MUST HAVE for EVERYBODY! even 4 years after it's release, i still listen to it and hear new things in there i never heard before. this album is spectacular and was ahead of its time. this gets more than 5 stars...call it a 10 star effort! i would rate nearly every song on here as absolutely awesome! then you have the AWESOME songs "baby check your friend", "i wonder", "sexcellent", "love you down", "playa road", "superstar"...all of these chart different territories and all of them deserve to be listened to individually over and over...each song alone can be called THE JAM...if you don't catch it or like it the first listen, give it a few listens...i GUARANTEE you'll love it...what can i say...silk made the best music ever here! then you have the best songs, which are "please don't go" and "back in my arms"... "please don't go" may be the best silk song ever. followed by "turn you out" which is great, and a cool remix of "if you"... and a cool interview. the vocals, the production, the songs, the album...all way over the top! everybody shines---all 5 members of the group, link and delite, and the other producers and songwriters! this album never dies... even without much airplay or exposure it sold well... crown this album king!

Just can't stop playing this CD!,
This review is from: Tonight (Audio CD)
Silk will make you Shout it Shout it! If you already have this CD, you'll know what I mean... I bought this CD back in November of 1999. I listened to it for a couple of months, then I bought Dru Hill, then Mariah, then Sisqo. But you know who's right back in my CD player for the last two months just like it was a brand new CD? You got it--Silk! When I bought it, I only listened to "Baby Check your Friend" "Meeting in my Bedroom" and "Please Don't Go." I thought it was over. Then, when it found it's way back into my CD player when I went on a weekend trip, I started listening to "I Wonder" "If You" and "Turn you Out." (Turn you out got a helluva lot of play.) Then after I got sick of listening to Sisqo and Donnel Jones this Spring, I went back to Old Faithful Silk. Now I can't stop listening to "If You-the 2000 watts remix" and "Love you down." Somebody. Anybody. Help! I'm so addicted! And you know why I'm addicted? Because one of them bruthas can "sang." I love a man that can yell when he sings (i.e. KC, Gerald Levert, Sisqo) and whoever is the lead singer... I have a favorite part in every, single song. Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is: You will not be disappointed with this CD. At first to be honest, I didn't like it that much, now it's damn near the only thing of quality that I can stand to listen to.

I'VE BEEN A SILK FAN SINCE "HAPPY DAYS". I'M A SUCKER FOR A GOOD LOVE SONG. I MAY BE 45, BUT U CAN BET THAT I'LL BE SCREAMING THE LOUDEST AT THE UPCOMING CONCERT BECAUSE THESE YOUNG MEN KNOW HOW TO DELIVER, OKAY? EACH CD IS LIKE A SEX 101 COURSE WITH AN OLD SCHOOL FLAIR. "TONITE" PROVES THAT SILK STILL CAN TAKE U ON A JOURNEY AND OH WHAT A JOURNEY IT IS!!

smooth as silk,
This review is from: Tonight (Audio CD)
Silk let us know that they are still smooth as silk with their long awaited album TONIGHT! These fine smooth brothers put it down with songs like If You, Meeting In My Bedroom, and Let's Make Love! They put love making on the map for many lovers that do love the pleasures of one another! I loved this c.d. because it made it easy for both the male and the female audience. Silk wasn't trying to take the ladies away from you guys, they were just helping you express your love for your special soomeone! If you can't say it let Silk do it for you! So go pick up Tonight, it will surely blow your mind!

Baby Makin Music At It's Best,
By Derrick Dunn "The Realest DJ" (Woodbridge,VA) - See all my reviews

. If you listen to Silk, however, it would be fair to say that 95 to 100 percent of their music is about sex. Ever since their debut, Lose Control, they have showed little inclination to sing about anything other than sex, coming on like disciples of early Prince, crossed with a bit of Barry White and Boyz II Men. Through three albums, they haven't changed their modus operandi one bit, which makes Tonight even better. If you're at all familiar with the previous two records, you know what to expect lyrically and musically from every track on the record, and chances are, you won't be too disappointed by this slightly over-produced, ballad-heavy set. The uninitiated may find the constant sex talk a little ridiculous and monotonous, but they'll likely groove on Darrell "Delite" Allamby's production, which updates classic '70s soul and funk. It can be a little glossy and glib, as well as a little lightweight in the songwriting department, but that Allamby production makes Tonight fairly effective romantic mood music -- even

This cd is hot to def! Every single song is hot. I'm talking on fire. The fellas really put it down. Lil John, AKA Young Billy Dee, vocals are tight as hell. This boy has talent. Cop this album and you will not regret it!

This is the album that is an aphrodisiac alone. It is not safe to listen to this album unless you are getting ready for a special night with someone. Trust me. It just starts getting the juices flowing, literally!!

Gotta give it up for Silk - the brothas are BAD!,
By Shonda (Dayton, Ohio USA) - See all my reviews

I remember when "Happy Days" came out - I played that tape to death! TONIGHT is mo better in the company of a significant other, get it? From "Meeting in My Bedroom" to "Let's Make Love" to "Superstar" - it's all the way live! And can't forget about "Playa Road"! Did anyone happen to catch them on Live From LA (BET)? Talk about sangin - Gary hit that high note in "Meeting in My Bedroom" with ease! That man WAS NOT strainin! Don't waste any more time... go out and get this CD!
