Contemplative Worship,
By
This review is from: Tonight the Stars Speak (Audio CD)
Although I am a big fan of listening to worship music because of its ability to focus my time more on God, I have often found worship to be carbon copies of earlier successful music. Not to say this is wrong, but it does take away from the worship originality. The Glorious Unseen offers one of the most original worship collections I've heard in many years, since Ardent Worship from Skillet. The fact that almost all of the songs, except Oh Praise Him, are original, and are done in a more reflective form of worship than straightforward worship that is often pushed. I really found this album to be a great way of going into contemplative worship, because the flow of the song offers an atmosphere of calmness.
If you're looking for the usual modern worship, then you can't go wrong with music from Chris Tomlin, Hillsong United, or Casting Crowns. But if you are looking for something more original and fresh, then give this album a try. You won't come away from from listening to this album without feeling blessed and awed by the glory of God. Give it a try, and be blessed.

Authentic hunger and thirst for God...this is what it's all about in Tonight the Stars Speak,

This review is from: Tonight the Stars Speak (Audio CD)
I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this album, but sincerely I got much, much more than I expected. Lyrics are honest and hearfelt, really giving you a sense of desperate need for God. Ben Crist is an amazing lyricist, the production team was great, all the musicians in this project (Mark Byrd, Christine, Matt Slocum)... Great talent, but there's much more than just talent in this production. This CD goes one step beyond City on a Hill, Passion or any modern worship effort. Buy this CD, you will not regret it!!!

Pretty good, but not amazing,

The lyrics are pretty good, though I wished they would focus more specifically on Jesus and the cross and not be so general. I wish a Biblical influence in the lyrics would be more apparent.
