Tom Lellis at his most intimate, August 17, 2008

This has to be one of the most intimate jazz recordings of all time and sounds like it was recorded in your own room. This is only his 7th album and I have looked forward to every one of them. Having been lucky enough to have catched one of his gigs in NYC, I long for just a trio recording, but that does not deter me from loving this one! These days one can get awfull sick of guitars, but Toninho Horta, a new name to me, is just so beautifull A mixture of standards and new Lellis songs, which are just as good as the standards, and when one thinks these standards were writen by the likes of Rogers and Hart, Cole Porter etc, that's saying a lot.
