My 2 year old loves fire trucks, and this book goes in great detail about what a fire fighter and a fire truck do.

I wanted to cheer up my daughter, who has been ill, and was excited to find a fire truck book she didn't already own. I was pleasantly surprised, and even MORE excited, to open the book and discover that it is about a GIRL, Susan, who daydreams about the adventures she would have if she could drive a fire truck. For my firefighter- and paramedic-obsessed daughter (her favorite shirt is a REAL firefighter T-shirt that her firefighter uncle gave her for Christmas, and she has a kit full of REAL paramedic supplies from the same source; her favorite TV show is the 1970's paramedic show "Emergency" -- although she has not missed the fact that none of the firefighters are female), it was the perfect pick-me-up.

Boys should enjoy the book -- only on the first and last page is there any emphasis on the fact that the main character is a girl -- but if you have a little girl with fire truck dreams, well, this is a PERFECT book, and I was so pleased to find it! Kudos to Tonka for not leaving little girls out of their "If I Could Drive..." series.

purchased for grandSONS....turns out the main character is a girl ... not a problem...just a surprise...guess i should have "looked inside" first ... otherwise neat little book and enjoyable... a nice way to show boys that girls are often interested in the same things they are.

my four-year-old has enjoyed this book since she was two and still does. it's informative without being too technical or wordy.

My 2 year old son loves this book. We read it almost every nap and bedtime for months and months now. He memorized it in less than a week. It shows accurate information without being too scary about a fire, and I like that the main character driving the fire truck is a little girl named Susan.

My 4 year old grandson has inherited his dad's love of fire engines. He went ga-ga over the Fireman Sam DVD's, so thought I'd get him this and 2 other fire truck books. My son said they read all three almost every night...real faves!

My son has enjoyed this book. Has bright pictures that he loves to look at. Cute book.

My 4 1/2 year old grandson loves this book. Since he's just begun to be fascinated with fire trucks and fire men, this book is an easy read and fun for him to listen too. Great for parents and grandparents alike to read to their beloved children.

Fun Book. We added it to my son's collection of fire station / fire truck / fire fighter books and he loves it.

This is great book for little boys! My son loves it! He wants to be a fireman when he grows up.
