4.0 out of 5 stars morbid, epic prog-folk soundscapes
2nd album from U.K. band who create epic soundscapes with a dark, unsettling beauty; these
are mournful, prog-folk stoner tunes with a narcotic morbidity. Like Pink Floyd meets Nick Cave
in a pitch black mystic arena, with Mogwai & Godspeed You Black Emperor hiding in the
shadows. Includes members from Iron Monkey, Gonga, Electric...

4.0 out of 5 stars A solid album, June 26, 2009

A Love of Shared Disasters was a rough example of what these guys can do.

You'd be forgiven if you think 200 Tons of Bad Luck is more of the same. It's got an infinitely greater amount of polish, and has a much more refined sound compared to its predecessor.

All of this while still maintaining the smooth rockin' vaguely western flavour that the band is known for.

If you're looking for something to listen to over the summer, and you're not afraid of lyrics you can't entirely make out, treat yourself. You'll be glad you did.

If you love Pink Floyd, do not hesitate to check this out. Awesome!! One of the few great new headphone albums.
