Camano Island is Smooth!,

Tony Gable has not received the praise he deserves. If you like Earl Klugh, take a listen to Camano Island. I have always considered this to be Tony's best work. The sound is very smooth!

It's hard to believe that this CD has been out since the early 90's and I am just now enjoying it!!! In my opinion this is when several of the smooth jazz artists were at their finest. Camano Island was the song that got me going on this particular CD. It still receives some airplay in the Atlanta area. The Slip, Lake Union, and Futon Fun are excellent songs...heck....they are all good overall. The one exception would be Island Lady (it has vocals by Tony). It's at least listenable. He has a great band and even though he is the featured artist...he is humble enough not to try and steal the show. Buy this CD and let's see if Tony becomes more popular.

You have to listen to Camano Island! Close your eyes and you will be taken to some remote island somewhere in the South Pacific.Smooth Jazz at it's best!

Haven't listened to the CD, I just thought I'd mention that if you feel transported to the South Pacific listening to Camano Island, that probably wasn't Tony's intent. Camano Island is in Washington State (the Puget Sound)http://www.whidbey.net/camano/ |
