4.0 out of 5 stars Calibration Solution December 30, 2010
By M. Shin
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Skateboard Bundle
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I have never written a review, but I am compelled to write one now to spare others of agony.
We too could not get the board to calibrate last night.
But it was late and we gave up after 30+ minutes.

Today I saw that there are 100+ reviews for the Wii version of this game.
And many of them are regarding the calibration issue.

I read thru all the Wii reviews and decided to apply the suggested solutions one at a time:
1. My basement had 4 ft clearance all around the board.
So I didn't have to rearrange any furnitures.
2. Checked the included batteries with a voltmeter.
All 4 were 1.54 V. So I left them as is.
3. Calibrated with lights off. No good.
4. Calibrated with lights off and a thick cushion in front of the cable box. Bingo!!!
BTW, I did not turn off the cable box. I just blocked it with a thick cusion.

For me, it appears that cable box was interfering.

And kids had a great time playing the game tonight.
God bless and a Happy New Year!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good fun motion game November 23, 2010

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Having a lot of fun with Tony Hawk SHRED here in the house. Game is easy to play with both us adults and the kids. Nice that Tony and his friends encourage us as we play. The graphics are really fun and colorful. Snowboarding is a great surprise, had just as much fun with that. Lots of improvements over RIDE.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a family game for the xbox

I have RIDE and enjoyed it but this is a whole new experience. SHRED looks and feels better and is a blast to play, especially with the kids. Very easy to control and very active. Big hit as a gift (for myself this time!).

4.0 out of 5 stars The kids love it September 28, 2011
Platform for Display:Xbox 360| Edition:Skateboard Bundle|Verified Purchase
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this for my friend's kids. I read some of the reviews regarding calibration issues. The unit calibrated with no issues with less than the 4 feet recommended distance surrounding the board. The kids, ages 8 and 11, learned pretty quick on playing the included game and had fun doing tricks and stuff. The game board comes with 4 AA batteries and supports weight of up to 300 pounds, so even adults can play. It works great on carpet, and includes fuzzy strips that you can attach to the bottom if you are using it on a non-carpeted surface. All in all, I think it's a good deal, and the kids enjoy it.

Version: XBox 360
Price: $9.99 (gold box deal)

5.0 out of 5 stars Very satisfied January 25, 2011
Platform for Display:Xbox 360| Edition:Skateboard Bundle|Verified Purchase
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
My son was very excited to receive this game. Unfortunately the actual skateboard stopped working the same day he got it. I went on-line to find out how to exchange the skateboard and found that the return policy was outstanding.
The very next day my son had a replacement game! And Amazon sent a return slip to send the broken game back. No questions asked, no hassles! My son was so devastated when the game stopped working but because of Amazon's amazing return/exchange policy, they turned a bad situation into a good one.
My son loves the game!

4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth it! March 23, 2011

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
My son asked for this for his 11th birthday. He is thrilled with the game. We had no problem connecting the board with the X-Box, however I had read previous reviews about having a 4 foot radius around the board and made sure the have enough space. It was easy to hook up and calibrate, we had it done in 5 minutes. My son is having a great time, it is challenging enough to keep him interested and entertained.

5.0 out of 5 stars A work out! December 18, 2010
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Skateboard Bundle
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I have owned basically every tony hawk game on various platforms. This game is freaking difficult compared to the ones with normal controllers! It's really fun and it's definitely a work out. I'm writing this right now while taking a break from it cause I am exhausted. I recommend this to anyone who likes to play an active video game. Don't expect it to be anything like the old tony hawk games. This is a totally different experience, but still a great deal of fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for all January 10, 2011
Platform for Display:Xbox 360|Edition:Skateboard Bundle
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Unlike other reviews, we found this game to be fun and entertaining for our 5 year old. It took my husband only 15 minutes to program it into the WII device and it was all fun and games after that. Our neighbors 3 year old and 8 year old had no problems navigating with the board or game options either. My only advice to others would be to carefully read the set up instructions, make sure you have fresh batteries in all of your devices and that your WII devices are properly set to your TV and the game.
