4.0 out of 5 stars Tony Hawk Skateboard
I was very disappointed with the Tony Hawk Skateboard. My son's grandmother bought it for him for Christmas last year. We had to spend an extra [X] for a battery pack, before he could even play with it. Finally when we got the battery pack and was able to play with it, the first time it crashed, the front wheel broke off. Also, when we went to put the battery in the...

Why would anyone sell a toy that you can't use unless you buy a seperate battery pack? What good is the toy without the (just as expensive) battery pack? This is marketing at its worst! If you can't use it without the battery pack, why wouldn't they include it?!

We had to spend an extra [X] for a battery pack, before he could even play with it. Finally when we got the battery pack and was able to play with it, the first time it crashed, the front wheel broke off. Also, when we went to put the battery in the skateboard part of the toy, the battery cover broke,so we had to tape it. I was fed up with the toy, and we just took a loss on our money. A very expensive one!

5.0 out of 5 stars NOT WORTH THE MONEY, August 20, 2002

Got this for my 12 yr old son for xmas. It was really the only thing he wanted. Looked around till i found it on sale, then had to run out and find the flex pak. when all was said and done, spent almost a hundred dollars. WHAT A WASTE of money. After and hour of figuring out what all it did, my son took it out to do some of the neat tricks it showed. BAM! the front axle bent right away. Took back to store, got a new one, not easy, had to wait for new shipment. Then he took the new one out, and BAM. the whole front end broke off. That was the last of TONY HAWK. Tyko needs to make these type of toys a little more durible for the price they charge. If you have a choice, opt for a cheaper version, less money down the drain!!!

Before purchasing Tony Hawk Skateboard ..., be aware that it requires a ...battery pak to operate it. OF COURSE the battery pak is not included with the purchase. This is obviously a marketing strategy to make it appear that you're not paying [more money] for a TOY. The other frustrating thing about this is that I (my son) have had his Tony Hawk since late November and I have not been unable to find a battery pak to buy. [The store], where I made the purchase NEVER has the battery in stock. Your only alternative is to buy it online ...and pay ... additional [money] for shipping

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT AS COOL AS IT LOOKS ON TV!!!, December 4, 2001

They really made this one look a lot better on the TV commercial. I was expecting skateboard style stunts but this thing runs more like a slow car. I did like how it stands up automatically if it falls but sadly, that is the only cool feature of this toy. I returnde it and got R/C Battlebots instead.

You failed to indicate that this toy required an additional battery pack that was not included. I did not realize this and my son was not able to play with this on Christmas. I also am not able to find this battery, so I purchased a $...toy that cannot be used. I am very disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not another boring rc, November 14, 2005

This is the first remote control toy that has kept my son's interest for more than a day. Tony Hawks doesn't just travel in a boring straight line. The more he plays with it, the more tricks he figures out. It even gets up remotely if it topples over during a stunt. My son has used and abused this toy for over a year now, and I'm surprised at how long it has survived all those tumbles and stairs jumping. I stopped buying my son rc vehicles because he would get bored of them in no time, but this toy is worth every penny. If I find it on sale, I would definitely buy a few to put away as gifts.

Toy is fun to play with. The battery pack doesn't last very long and takes a long time to charge back up. The wheels fell off after a few weeks of purchase with little play time .
