i traded a kid at camp for this game and i can tell you, it stinks. it has an extreme lack of features like any kind of saving. (it doesnt even use passwords) this game lasted me only 10 minutes to get bored of. if you want a quality, addicting game check out Mario Golf, Mickey Racing, or Zelda DX

The courses and backround are great and make for high replayability. Although I have mastered the game by getting all the skate tapes I still enjoy the two player mode tremendously. different stages provide new challenges like roswell new mexico, a shopping mall and many more great courses you have to unlock. This game scores A+ with me it will with you too!

This game is very good. Unlike alot of gameboy games when you've finished it it's still very addictive. The graphics are extremly good especially in the menu's. The half pipe enables you to pull of 9 visually stunning moves and then you can combine different moves for more points. The street racing competitions are not that great though as the contol on it is bad but the moves you can do are quite good. If your not a skatboard fan then this might not be for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wowser!, July 1, 2000

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is an awesome game with good graphics (especially for Game Boy) and excellent game play. I especially enjoy the halfpipe mode, where you pick your character and ramp and pull off Backflips, Methods, Japan Airs, 180-900 degree rotations, and much more. The controls are simple and easy to learn. The tournament mode is a little wierd, and the controls for it are hard. I would have given the game 4 stars, but the fun and coolness of the halfpipe brought the rating up. This game also has a two player option (with the game link cable) which I have not been able to test. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is an excellent game, even though it has some drawbacks. I'd recommend it to anyone, especially those who like 'boarding.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is one of my favorite game boy games, October 26, 2000
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Tony Hawk: Pro Skater (Game Cartridge)
This game is fun for game boy color. You can be other pro skaters besides tony hawk such as Bucky Lasek or Kareem cambel.Once you get the controls into your head its very fun,its amazing how you do so many trikcs on a game boy game like this one.My favorite mode is haif pipe because you can do 13 tricks including the 900 .I give this game 4 stars because its hard to do most of the grinds.

This is the best game ever invented by gameboy. It has very good graphics for a gameboy. I think it's cool that you can skate against other skaters or your friends. I think it's also cool that you can skate in many diffrent places (3 verts and 6 streets and in competitions). I think you should definetly get this game if you like skateboarding!

3.0 out of 5 stars not good,not bad, May 9, 2001

This review is from: Tony Hawk: Pro Skater (Game Cartridge)
I gave Tony Hawk's Pro Skater a 3.It wasn't great, but it wasn't completely horrible. It has great sound(although there are only a couple of tunes).Being aware of that, the graphics still are bad.It had pretty good gameplay but the graphics?I loved the console versions(I played demos at K-Mart)and I knew that the GBC version couldn't be as great, but they were just horrible. And another thing is that when doing the tournament mode(getting points for tricks)there were only like 2 possible tricks:Indy and Stale Fish. The vert wasn't that great either. You could only get up to about 1500 points maxium(whole thing),while in console modes that's like the lowest point value for ONE trick. And it takes like 10 seconds to get enough air to do a trick.Wat's with the crashing? You go on one side of one of those big ramps and you crash! It has to look slanted because of GBC graphics, but it doesn't mean you have to crash when going near it! ...I would recommend this game because it is pretty good, but I think that you could definately find better....

4.0 out of 5 stars This game is ok- but the accuracy of graphics needs work, August 17, 2000

Tony Hawk's pro Skater for Gameboy is an ok game. The halfpipe and races are ok. The sound is great for gameboy and it's pretty much fun. The control needs work as it is hard to get everything the way it should be. I only have beef with the graphics. The stages are ok, but every player, including Kareem Cambell and Elissa Steamer, looks like a white male with short hair. This is the only problem. Otherwise this is a pretty fun game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, December 26, 2000
This review is from: Tony Hawk: Pro Skater (Game Cartridge)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is a pretty good game. The game has good graphivs for a Game Boy and the Half Pipe Mode keeps me going back for more. On the game you can choose from Half Pipe Mode, Tournament Mode, and this other mode that you can play with a friend using a connector cable. The one thing that I don't like with this game is that the Tournament Mode is very hard to use and very confusing. I must say that this game is probably the best extreme sports games on the market for a Game Boy.

So, Tony Hawk Pro Skater is a pretty good game. I would reccomend this game for a nw Game Boy user due to the easy controls or any Game Boy or roller blading fan. Buy this. You'll like it.

HAPPY GAMING!
