This review is from: Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam (Video Game)
Tony Hawk makes his way back to the GBA, and all of Nintendo's other systems, with a different approach. The trick heavy, open ended skater games have been replaced with a downhill racing type game, and while this may be a welcome change of pace for longtime fans of the series, Tony Hawk's Down Hill Jam isn't all that great, but believe it or not the GBA gets the best version. Remember the SSX games that were released for the GBA way back when? The graphics engine here looks very similar to those games, and it looks good considering this is the GBA we're talking about here. The racing engine is simple to get a hold of enough, but if you're looking for the kind of past Tony Hawk style gaming that you'd expect, it's not here. That's not all bad though however. There's enough to make Down Hill Jam a worthy enough distraction for those who still play their GBA, and it's easy to get into and pick up and play, but there isn't enough here to hold your attention long. All in all, Tony Hawk's Down Hill Jam is worth a look, but don't expect much from it.
