2.0 out of 5 stars Completely omits 2 handed backhands, June 29, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Tony Roche Master Tennis: Backhands [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I ordered the first two volumes of the "Master Tennis with Tony Roche" series and was pleased with Volume 1 which deals with forehands. Volume 2 covers backhands and is of similar quality but it does not cover 2 handed backhands at all which is a glaring omission in my opinion. Anyone who uses the two handed backhand would be wasting their money buying this, and that's the case with me.

For players who use a one-handed backhand, I think you will like the video. It covers the various backhand grips, then progresses through the flat backhand, topspin backhand, slice backhand, lobs, approach backhand, backhand returns of serve, footwork, dinks and tips for advanced players. In each case, Tony Roche discusses the fundamentals, then demonstrates the shots, and then the video replays clips of the pros using those shots several times. Watching others use correct form is a great way to learn, and this series is designed to allow you to do that. Overall, I would have been happy if with the purchase if they hadn't omitted the 2 handed backhand.
