3.0 out of 5 stars Less Science (Explanations) Than Gore's; Good Summary
This DVD has a number of "talking heads" short statements interspersed with lots of good video. It is well organized, (mostly) around possible effects of climate change, followed by some responses, including a rather good section about what Portland, OR has been doing for a number of years to decrease their contribution to climate change. This DVD is good at making the...

The documentary is very clear and easy to understand. Scientific facts are presented in a clear and simple so everyone can comprehend the importance of this issue. It is a great documentary that may be discussed by teachers and educators in general, on science and social courses.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must See!, December 7, 2006

In this movie many scientists explain different consequences of global warming very clearly. Then they explain many potential solutions and things that are currently being done in several states of US to help stop it. It's a great movie. BTW, it explains that the global Warming is a global average, but in different parts of the World we should expect to see unbalance in the weather, extremes, either very hot, or cooler than usual. That doesn't mean there is not global warming, just that a regional area has colder temperatures is part of the climate change, but overall the average temperature is indeed warming.
I even liked this movie better than An Inconvenient Truth, which is a great eye-opener but doesn't have much about what can be done and is being done to solve this problem that we brought into ourselves.

This movie goes beyond the normal information about global warming. It helped me understand what global warming really is about and all the areas it touches. Everyone should see this movie.

3.0 out of 5 stars Less Science (Explanations) Than Gore's; Good Summary, February 27, 2010

This DVD has a number of "talking heads" short statements interspersed with lots of good video. It is well organized, (mostly) around possible effects of climate change, followed by some responses, including a rather good section about what Portland, OR has been doing for a number of years to decrease their contribution to climate change. This DVD is good at making the point that many of the things we can do to decrease our carbon dioxide input also will save us money in the long run, but it seems to paint almost too Rosey a picture in that sense--make no mistake, decreasing climate change will be painful in other ways.(editorial comment there). In contrast, Gore's movie has more explanation of why some of the climate change effects may occur. So, if you just want to see what the effects may be, this is a good movie. If you want to see some more evidence of why those effects may occur, Gore's movie is better. For those of you who can't stand Gore--does it really matter WHO is saying it? He is just repeating what scientists tell him, anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative with out all the gloom and doom, May 19, 2011
This review is from: Too Hot Not to Handle (DVD)
I thought this video did a good job of explaining climate change and its consequences while at the same time exploring real solutions. It leaves one with a sense of how serious climate change is, but it also imparts a sense of hope.

4.0 out of 5 stars good. especially the ways-out part, July 14, 2006
This review is from: Too Hot Not to Handle (DVD)
I saw the televison version today. A rather simple documentary. No political stuff. Although the climate crisis is no longer disputed, the movie could use help from visual reinforcement and heavy bombardment of scientific evidence. i hope the DVD will go deeper on the scientists' proposals to solve the problem.

As to personal experience, when i was in Beijing, i read "THE HEAT IS ON". The weather there is indeed getting hotter year by year. Now i'm in Dubai, the weather is getting cooler. Different parts of a whole picture, i guess.

An excellent program. I gave several as gifts for Christmas to help spread the word and asked each recipient to pass it on as well. Let's get the word out and touch people's hearts to evoke change.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than inconvenient truth, May 22, 2008
This review is from: Too Hot Not to Handle (DVD)
This video is far better than Al Gore's "inconvenient truth". The video is all science without the "if I had been voted president I could have made a difference".
