Too Much Like Right, July 25, 2004
This review is from: Too Much Like Right 2 (Paperback)
K.D. Greene has again written poetry that expresses some joys and
sorrows of a working class generation. The poetry highlights the
day-to-day mechanics needed to survive, and emphasizes that often
surviving demands more than simply living. Her poetry is about the
frustrations of getting up each day, punching that 'clock', be it
mental or mechanical. She loves to take the nuances of life and
sprinkle them across the pages.
One title caught my eyes as it embodies the essence of TOO MUCH
LIKE RIGHT 2. It's titled "Sometimes" and I'll share just one
realistic verse:
'Sometimes you have to do what you need to do
In order to take good care of you
Even if you need to call in sick
and you are physically well'
I will describe this as a book of simple, candid, real truisms of life.
