i've always dug "too much too little too late". Deniece Williams and Johnny Mathis had very good chemistry and harmony on this classic song. the rest of the collection showcases Deniece Williams songs through the years which showcase her talent and depth. Deniece Williams to me is a vastly Underrated Artist. her range ain't no joke and her versatility as a Artist is always worth hearing out.

Johnny and Deniece are both great vocalists, and even though they shine on several of this CD's songs, some of the material is less than stellar. Still worth the price for "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late" though. mg

This is a great CD but it is NOT comprised of entire duets by the dynamic pairing of Deniece Williams and Johnny Mathis. When I purchased it I thought that they were singing duets on ALL the songs but that isn't so. The duets included here are available on the THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR CD, which has an expanded edition available that includes extra-tracks including "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late" and "Without Us" (theme from Family Ties TV show), I recommend purchasing that CD rather than this one because there's no new duets here that aren't included on that CD.

Tracks 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11, and 12 are solo songs (3, 6, 9, 12 are Williams's) and the others are duets. This CD has not been remastered and it must have been released in the foreign market (or maybe it was a "promo" only, which would explain why there's duets and solos included. It's very misleading because just looking at the cover and one would think that all the songs are duets, but they aren't. Amazon's product description doesn't help either.

The pairing between Williams and Mathis is sublime and their voices blend perfectly. Just buy the THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR CD instead of this one if you can find it because that has all the wonderful duets on it and include the ones that weren't available on the original 1978 release. The expanded version of TWFAF will have 14-tracks on it so you'll know you've got the right one.
