2007 deluxe two CD edition of one of the truly seminal albums of the '80s, reissued to coincide with the 25th anniversary of it's original release. Band leader Kevin Rowland had steered the band through a handful of hit singles and a soulful debut album before transforming their image a few times until he settled on the 'Celtic gypsy' image. Half of the original horn section was replaced by fiddle players and the rest is history. Disc One features seven bonus tracks including the non-album A-side 'Let's Get This Straight From The Start', four B-sides and two live cuts. Disc Two features one B-side and 17 BBC live sessions. Mercury.

I have the original Dexy's Midnight Runners Too-Rye-Aye album and I have to say, I didn't think it could get any better. However, this special edition version of Too-Rye-Aye with the music videos to Come on Eileen and Celtic Soul Brothers is truly worth the purchase. All of the songs on the CD flow together beautifully.

If you like Wire , gang of Four, XTC, The Cure,Etc. Get a dose of this album! So soulfull and well written. Punk meets a Celtic , they get married in Motown.

Not much to add beyond what has been said. Soul, Celtic folk and rock combine to make an excellent listen. The bonus essay and 2nd disc are just icing on the soul cake.
