Georgia Adam's relationship with her so-called boyfriend has stalled out -- why, after ten months of dating, hasn't their relationship become more intimate? And why, she wonders, does she care so much? What is this libidinous monster raging inside an otherwise orderly, "good" girl? And how does one go about, exactly, convincing the man she picked precisely because he is safe and predictable and trustworthy (in other words, the antithesis of her philandering father -- a man whom she loved dearly, all the same) that it's way past time to up the ante, as it were?

When a girlfriend suggests phone sex as a means to put some spark into the flat relationship, Georgia is at first leery. After all, what does she know about stuff like that? But she's desperate, and she can't sleep anyway, so. . .why not?

Except, what she doesn't realize is that, in keying in her boyfriend's number into her new -- and exasperatingly defective -- answering machine, she's transposed two numbers.

Ken Medlock, one of Birminghams' Finest, can't quite believe his ears -- or his good fortune -- when he gets this truly amazing phone call in the middle of the night. Now, the right thing, he knows, would be to tell the woman she has the wrong number. But. . .you know how it goes. And it's been a really lousy day. . .and, well, one thing leads to another, including, some time later, the first decent night's sleep the insomniac guy has had in weeks.

And there things would have ended. . .except, through a fluke, Ken meets the unsuspecting Georgia the following day, and finds himself knocked clear into next week. Not to mention torn between wanting to get to know the strong, decent woman with the passionate nature better and not knowing how on earth to tell her that sure as heck wasn't Rob she was talking to the previous night.

Since this is a Harlequin Temptation Blaze, one expects the book to be "hot" -- in other words, blatantly sexy. And this one is, no doubt about it. And, if that were the book's ONLY claim to fame, this reader probably would not be endorsing it. Sex for its own sake in any book -- even in a line as sensual as Blaze -- is not my cup of tea. However, having previously enjoyed Stephanie Bond's work, I figured if anyone could take this premise and wring it for everything it was worth, she could. I was not disappointed.

Georgia Adams is a woman coming to terms with her sexuality, confused by whether or not her feelings are normal and natural. And the two men in her life - - our very human hero, Ken, and her "perfect" boyfriend Rob -- simply represent two sides of her personality: the side that wants equates "good" with "safe", and the passionate side. As Ken struggles with his dilemma of how to win over a woman he's basically lied to (an element that's handled with great skill, in this reader's opinion), Georgia's psyche is having a grand old time battling it out, as well. These are very real people, deftly drawn and presented -- no mean feat in a short book -- and Ms. Bond tells their story with a great deal of humor and compassion. For me, reading TOO HOT TO SLEEP was like devouring a small, sinfully rich piece of fine chocolate.

Bond's Too Hot to Sleep features a nurse Georgia, who hopes to spice up her relationship by having phone sex with her boyfriend. Except that she messed up one digit when she programmed her boyfriend's number on the autodial on her phone and ended up calling Ken, a relationship shy cop. Although he was going to tell her that she had the wrong person, when she told him she wasn't wearing her panties, he shuts up, thinking with his secondary brain.

When he meets her at the hospital by accident, he realizes that she's the woman on the phone, and he's determined to know her personally. However, as the plot thickens, he realizes that he's in a lot of trouble. How could he tell her that it was really him she called without making her mad at him? Of course, Georgia has her share of problems, one of which being that she's fantasizing about Ken, when she really should be fantasizing about her boyfriend.

The story is fast-paced, very light in tone, and hot in sensuality. All Bond's fans would enjoy this new title from the talented author, while new fans will clamor to the bookstore to grab her older titles.

After hearing soooo much talk, both pro and con, on this book, I just
HAD to buy it........let me say that I may be just a bit old-fashioned
in some ways, and completely clueless when it comes to "phone
sex" but I would have done exactly what Georgia Adams did if I
was 30 years old (again...) and dating a man for 10 months who has
never "come on" to me!! Her naivete' rather shone through
her attempts at phone sex........as a reader, I knew she didn't enjoy
doing it, but got talked into it by her friend........and she DID
rather enjoy it once she got the hang of it <bg>........ Liked
both Georgia and Ken Medlock, the policeman whose number she
auto-dialed by mistake.........I can see why he didn't have the heart
to tell her he wasn't Rob (her boyfriend).......he wasn't kinky, he
was more embarrassed (and yes, he did enjoy it also).........Sparks
flew the next day when he first met her at the emergency room at the
local hospital, where he brought an injured dog to be treated.........
You honestly have to read this book to form your own opinion... I
thought it had everything - - realistic and likeable hero/heroine
(albeit sexually frustrated ones); lots of mix-ups (reminiscent of the
1930-s screwball comedies); laughs galore; and what more could we ask
for, than a cute doggie?? Oh, and did I mention, steamy (phone) sex
scenes??? This is one romance book I'm sure my two (married)
daughters will be happy to borrow from me..........

Stephanie Bond's latest book is definitely not for the faint of heart. Having said that, I will also say that if you are one who likes their romance steamy you can't do better than this sexy, spicy, and often humorous tale of the ultimate 'wrong number'. I can certainly relate to the problem Georgia has with her new phone. I still have to call my son to help re-program the VCR remote. So, screwing up the speed dial is entirely possible to me. I did wonder about the believability of the heroine not knowing it wasn't her boyfriend on the line, but the author offers a plausible reason and because the phone calls were only a few, it was believable for me. Ms. Bond definitely pushes the envelope with this book, with her well-crafted 'flying solo' scenes. Does she push it out of bounds? Not in my opinion. The language is suggestive, but not explicit. She also gives us those elements we've come to expect: a hero and heroine who make mistakes and aren't afraid to apologize. The hero, Ken Medlock, makes a memorable case for himself in the end as he tries to legitimately win Georgia's love after having kept the truth from her for so long. Does this make him less heroic? No. It makes him human.

I've read several of Ms. Bond's earlier books, and look forward to seeing more of her writing for this particular category. I did learn one very important fact from reading this book: There are white chocolate-covered cherries!

I decided to read this book due to a review I read by Catherine Bishop on the All About Romance Web-site. The story sounded intriguing and the review stated the sexuality was burning. The plot was unique in a "cutesy" sort of way and had wonderful possibilities, however I guess I've read too much Linda Howard, Stephanie Laurens, Nicole Jordan, and Dara Joy because the sensuality just left me flat. There's really only one consumate sex scene in this book and it lasts about a minute and a half. There is no romance to speak of at all and the idea of the heroine repeatedly placing sexual phone calls to the wrong number and not realizing she was talking to someone other than her boyfriend was difficult to buy into. I felt the whole tone of the book was adolescent in nature, if you want to read a really "So Called Hot" Contemporary Romance read Michelle Jerott's ABSOLUTE TROUBLE or ALL NIGHT LONG.

This snack of a book is a quick read and lots of fun. I thought the plot was a novel one for a contemporary romance. The heroine is trying to nudge her relationship with her boyfriend into a more intimate relationship and hits upon the plan of calling him for a little phone sex. She doesn't know it, but she's programmed the wrong number into her new phone and inadvertently calls a perfect stranger. The recipient of her naughty call is caught unaware but is willing to play along. Come to find out, he's actually a nice guy. As you'd expect, the rest of the plot revolves around these two soulmates finding one another in person. It's a fresh twist and an amusing read.

Ever have problems with your phone? Or your love life? Well so does Georgia! Only she gets herself out of the frying pan and into the fire by attempting to have phone sex with her lukewarm boyfriend. What she gets is an incredible encounter with a sexy cop who doesn't tell her she's made a mistake. This is a terrific story with great characters and some really HOT chemistry. KCS

Phone sex was never so good as it is when Georgia calls the wrong number. Her hesitant phone call to her boyfriend quicky cures Ken's insomnia despite the fact that he knows she's calling the wrong number. Originally printed in 2000 this title was pretty darn hot when it first came out. By 2009 standards it's a little tame but it's still an interesting read.

Thank goodness that everything worked out for Crash.

I don't usually read this kind of book, but the premise on the back blurb lured me. Phone sex with the wrong man? Good girl Georgia tried to break out of her shell by getting through to her reluctant boyfriend Rob by enticing him with a few naughty words over the phone in the middle of the night (during a heatwave, hence the title). Anyway, by a fluke of technology, she reaches the sexy officer Ken and the encounter leaves her more...satisfied than she imagined. The next day, she meets Ken face to face. He immediately figures out she was the siren from the night before. Predictibly, it takes her until almost the end of the book to realize she's not indulging with her boyfriend, but Officer Ken. Oh, he tries to tell her, but is afraid she'll never speak to him. In for a penny, in for a pound... Anyway, after an argument, she goes through some gyrations about trust and commitment, Rob breaks up with her and Ken professes her love. What's a girl to do but love him back? Very entertaining, though a tad slow starting. Still, worthwhile for a lazy afternoon read, especially if you're looking for something light.

I've been reading Temptations for almost 2 years, on a more or less regular basis and this book is right up there with my favorites of all time. It's definitely a keeper. A fast paced, very funny plot and compelling characters. Even though it's a spectular story, it seemed believable. It's one of the best Temptation books I've read in a LONG time. Stephanie Bond knows how to capture the readers attention. This is not a book easily put down nor forgotten once finished. Do yourself a favor, read it !
