To be completely honest, yes, this album doesn't sound like the "rock" and "pop punk" that Panic! is known for. It's exactly what the band has been saying it is, an tribute to their Vegas Roots. This album sounds very popish, and not very polished, and a lot more 80's inspired than anything else. It's exactly what Panic! At the Disco is known for, not being confined to one music style. It sounds like Las Vegas. I personally love the sound of it, and my personal favorite song is This is Gospel. It's nothing like what you would expect from them, then again, if you've been following the band or are at least a fan of their music you'd know that what you expect is exactly what they don't give you. (Need I refer to the drastic style change between A Fever You Can't Sweat Out and Pretty Odd and then once again for Vices and Virtues?)

Basically, I love it already.

I've have been a fan since they began, and so what I (and their many fans) have become accustomed to is a completely new sound between albums. Fever, Pretty. Odd., Vices & Virtues, and now this album surely prove that, but this new album, in my opinion, has lost some of that true Panic!. Deep, complicated lyrics and beautiful melodies have been replaced by autotune and the pain of a band who has fallen apart. (Read Brendon's article in Alt Press, and you'll know what I'm talking about.)

HOWEVER, I understand this band has been through quite a bit, and with Spencer on leave from the band at the moment, and through most of the production, listeners can (and will) hear the tremendous amount of emotion in the lyrics Brendon has put together.

This Is Gospel is a personal favorite, with gems like Casual Affair and The End Of All Things not far behind. I recommend you give it a listen before buying if you're not into a pop-punk-80's sound. I, myself, am glad I bought it.

Excellent! Each song moves into the next one flawlessly and at the same time are unique. You can find your mood easily: dancing, slow dancing, listening and everything in between. This is the first album I buy from them after following their work based on what is played on the radio. An extremely pleasant surprise and I love following them on twitter!

Looking back on their first album, this is drastically different. There were almost techno influences on this album. 8/10, would buy again, especially to support this band!

The CD arrived in perfect condition! This was the first album I ever heard by panic! and I fell in love, so of course I went back and listened to the other 3. I was surprised at how different the sound was in each of them and there were a couple of them I wasn't sure I liked at first (that thought was short lived), but hey they swore to shake it up and we swore to listen.

While I'm not in love with every song on this album, the moment you drop the needle and "This is Gospel" begins you'll be in a wonderful place. That said, all Panic! vinyl releases are limited pressings and if you really enjoy the physicality of the large cover art, sliding that HEAVY 180 gram vinyl out of the sleeve, building anticipation as you drop the needle, and the deafening prologue of the needle tracing the grooves of the blank space and dust until the music finally starts; then buy this freaking vinyl!

Now for my technical review
The good:
- The vinyl is a well manufactured heavy 180g production flat black press
- It comes with a DRM free digital download of the album in addition to the Amazon Music one
- The front/back cover art is a gorgeous as well as the full color lyric insert

The bad:
- I think science has gone too far. Black holes are nothing to play with and yet here it is. When pulled from it's dust jacket the static pull exerted by this black disk is so intense that everything in the immediate vicinity will rocket towards and hold with the force of a neurotic fan boy with separation issues. It took 4 separate anti-static cleanings to purge my home of this vortex and listen to this record without a skip. I assume this feature allows the album to absorb as much energy from its surroundings as possible in an attempt to supply sufficient power to the awesomeness of sounds that will eventually radiate from its grooves.

Overall: "A"

Love the record but have various anti-static vinyl cleaning methods ready.

I didn't really like this album when I first listened to it. Still trying to figure out the breakup of Panic! and how the remaining members work for me. But, I ordered the CD, put it on my PC and elsewhere and have been loving it. And, listening to this has caused me to go back and listen to other Panc! as well as their musical cohorts Fallout Boy. Great stuff.

I have always really loved Panic! since they debuted 9 years ago with A Fever you can't sweat out, but Pretty. Odd and Vices and Virtues cannot compare to Too weird to live, too rare to die! It feels like a new album but with a lot of fallback to older sounds. Every song is catchy and keeps you in the album.
