Editorial Reviews

Invited to Cannes and Venice Film Festivals, as well as the NY Asian Film Festival, this atypical love story stars two 70+ actors portraying lovers that meet after they are widowed. Met with controversy in Korea for its explicit sexuality, the film brings an unblinking eye to the portrayal of our forgotten seniors.

This product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media. Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Review Of Too Young To Die April 24, 2009
Format:DVD
This 2002 documentary-drama is about two South Korean senior citizens who meet, get to know each other and fall in love. During their relationship, they take part in various sexual positions(there was one moment where the lady performs oral sex on the gentleman). Altough it was banned in Korea, this film won plenty of praise from critics and film festivals alike. This is a good film to watch.

4.0 out of 5 stars Downright Sexy for Seniors August 1, 2011
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Jin-pyo Park has put together a beautiful tale, filmed with a lush-yet-gritty viewpoint that I loved.

Sun-ye Lee and Chi-gyu Park are a beautiful pair. I thought lovemaking scenes, certainly including the oral sex and climaxes, were extremely well done. Not pornographic in any way, the entire film portrays seniors as real people with authentic emotions, sensual desires, and beautiful souls.

The same person that told me about this film mentioned CLOUD 9 (German, includes very tasteful frontal nudity, which I definitely enjoyed) and THE VERTICAL RAY OF THE SUN (Vietnamese). I believe all three of these films are also mentioned in the introduction of SEASONED ROMANCE, the book. I say that to mention that TOO YOUNG TO DIE and the other films and book are all part of the process toward understanding that seniors are interested in life and lovemaking. That might come as a revelation to younger people, but it is true.

And we want more like TOO YOUNG TO DIE!

3.0 out of 5 stars Real life but sexually overdone August 23, 2013
Format:Amazon Instant Video
The old guy still has it, but should that be the theme of a story? Well, you decide. I was hoping for more value in this story.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sweet & poinant August 2, 2013

Not my cup of tea but very sweet. I loved the old guy but reading subtitle while someone is doing it is not really cool

3.0 out of 5 stars Slow July 12, 2013
Format:Amazon Instant Video
The storyline sounded interesting but is slow in a few parts I fast forwarded. Some of their customs were different.
