My nephew opened the EZ Fort this Christmas Day and the connectors were missing. I called the 800 # and left a message.
Joe Donahue, the inventor of this product returned my call, Christmas Day, left me a voicemail apologizing for the mishap and said they would overnight a replacement set right away.

Two hours later Mr. Donahue appeared at my nephews front door, after driving over an hour away, on Christmas Day, with the missing connector pieces and another full EZ Fort Set.

Certainly restores my faith in human nature! My entire family is just dumbfounded . . . What a terrific guy Joe Donahue is Just amazing! Thanks so much for making our Christmas! Everyone who has kids, nieces or nephews should buy this product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Toobeez much better than Crazy Fort, February 23, 2010

I bought The Crazy Fort for my kids last year and it was very hard for them to assemble and broke apart at the slightest touch. Toobeez EZ-Fort is much easier for kids to do themselves and they have more staying power. I am buying more for the cousins. Great idea and great product. I got some material with sea creatures and some with rainforest animals to create under water or forest forts.

5.0 out of 5 stars a much safer tent/fort, November 18, 2009

My children - ages 7 and 4, were constantly building tents to sleep in. They would pile high totes of toys, spread blankets from bed to tote, place books, toys anything to weight down the blanket so they could sleep under it. During nights the tent usually fell. I winced when I saw the heavy objects that could fall on them in the night and would end up trying to build something for them that would hold and be safe.

This toy is awesome! Now they can build a safe tent to sleep in and I do not have to worry about bumps and messes! This toy is something that is most worth owning to me! Sparks imagination with constructing it and play.

My only regret is I only bought one! I think with 3 kids, more will be coming to our home for birthdays.

We really wanted to like this toy, it was easy to setup and fun to play with, but as other reviewers have pointed out, it falls apart too easily. I don't mean when kids being kids bump into it, this thing came apart on some corners without anyone being in the room. We would build something and come back 15mins later, and a couple of the sticks would have popped out the corner balls. It was very frustrating for my son to watch it falling apart repeatedly, especially when he played around in the forts he built.

We wanted to keep it, but in the end, my 5-yr old found it very hard to play around the structures he built, we ended up returning it. Do yourself and the planet and favor and skip this toy, at least until they put in some sort of locking mechanism to keep the pieces together. Good idea, poor design and implementation.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but breaks to easy - dictated by 9 year old Jessie, April 27, 2011

I was excited to get this toy for Christmas. The first fort I built did fine, but the second one had the sticks starting to break. I get very frustrated when more sticks break as I build and take down the forts. I have fewer sticks to build with almost every time I use this toy. The idea of this toy is great, but the manufacturer needs to make the stick stronger. The yellow balls are fine, but the sticks need improvement.

I purchased EZ-Fort in a hurry for Christmas after agonizing whether to get the pricier Toobeez builder kit and thinking EZ Fort might be easier for my kids to handle. The toy is a great idea and my 3 and 4 year old are having fun. Ultimately, I regret not spending a little extra for the more expensive sturdier looking Toobeez kit as the EZ Fort seems to come apart rather easily and anything heavier than a sheet might not be a good idea. I do feel that for the price this is a good value. It would be nice to have a second kit as the one kit is not enough to share.I will probably get another EZ fort now and save my money for the sturdier Toobeez kit for a later time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Quality & Fun Issue, July 6, 2011

Despite some negative review about quality the idea was so great that I ordered it. The fundamental issue is that the rods keep disconnecting from the connector balls. No matter how hard you try to get the rods in, they just keep getting disconnected. The kids are dissapointed because adults have to run arround and re-connect all the rods while kids are trying to play. EZ-Forts also sells another version of this toy which seems to be a much better quality though it costs four to five times the price of this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Neat concept, but falls apart easily, December 19, 2010

My kids got this as a Christmas gift last year. They were thrilled when they first received it, but quickly became frustrated because their creations would fall apart with the slightest touch. I've worked with them try to make sure that the tubes are inserted firmly into the connectors, but as I would adjust one point another would come loose. Draping a gossamer sheet over the frame is a delicate task, as pieces come loose as this is done.

Perhaps the problem is because my kids try to build somewhat complex structures. But the pictures in the booklet suggest that this can be done, and in many different locations - in the yard, at the beach, etc. I can't imagine doing this anywhere but inside the house on a hardwood floor during a period of relative seismic quiescence.

Still, my kids occasionally become interested in it again, and they have gotten over their frustration with having to repeatedly build the same thing as it comes crashing down 3 or 4 times in the process. And they do enjoy it quite a bit. It teaches them the concept of building a "foundation" and reinforcing the roof with crossbars, and they have been very creative in the things they've attempted. I just wish it were just a little sturdier.

Then again, maybe we simply received a defective set. I see dozens upon dozens of positive reviews here, and I can't imagine that would be the case if everyone's set fell apart so easily. But this has been our experience, and hence this negative review.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, but frustrating, December 11, 2010

My 5 year old received this for a gift and LOVES the concept. (I love the concept, too!) Unfortunately, playing with this toy requires a lot of patience. The structures we build fall apart at the slightest bump. We get it built, she starts to crawl in and brushes against the side and multiple connections come loose. She loves creating her fort, she loves playing in her fort, but a large percentage of the play time involves putting the fort back together.

The EZ-Fort is fantastic. I bought it for my 5-year-old nephew, and he loves it. While at first we had to show him how to put it together, he quickly caught on and has been having fun ever since. The sticks are pretty durable (seeing how some kids were using them as swords...) and can easily hold up a sheet. (A blanket was a little too heavy though.) The only complaint I have is that I wish it came with more sticks and balls. You can definitely build a house, but not a very big one. Overall, a great product! (Also, a great learning tool. It really helps the kids learn how to plan and solve problems.)
