4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice true "pocket" knife December 9, 2006
By C.C.
This is the best true "pocket" knife ever. Why? Because it's so slim that I carry it everywhere, usually in my front pants pocket, and you don't even know it's there.

The knife blade is really sharp and beefy...cut's through rope, rubber hose, cardboard packaging, etc. with ease. Anytime someone asks "anyone got a pocket knife?" they are amazed when I pull this thing out. It will handle some really tough cutting jobs.

The other features get a mixed review: The little plastic tweezers work pretty good for pulling out slivers and such.

The compass...stopped working after a year or so...not sure if it was ever accurate.

The toothpick...basically worthless, and mine fell out and got lost a long time ago.

The screwdriver/bottle opener thingy...flatblade only and not very easy to use (if you just need to loosen or tighten a screw it's fine...if you have a lot of twisting to do forget it). Never really used the bottle opener on a bottle, but it is pretty small so I doubt it would give you enough leverage for even a really tight bottle cap. But the pick thing on the end has a very sharp point that I have used for I can't remember what...but it is useful.

The magnifying glass works...but it's pretty small

If you buy this tool, buy it for the knife...it's well worth it! Don't let my comments on the little doo-dads turn you off. It is without a doubt the easiest to carry, most useful, and best true "pocket" knife I have used. In fact, I am going to buy myself a new one! My old one is more than 10 years old, and still in decent shape, but getting dull. The serrated edge is great, but hard to sharpen. I've used it so much I have got my moneys worth many times over, so I have no problem buying another one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Handy Tool June 9, 2008
After damaging my regular pocket knife, I purchased this so that I would always have a bottle opener, tweezers, and tooth pick handy. I didn't want a large bulky multi-purpose knife. This fits inside my wallet easily. Sometimes I'll leave my pocket knife at home, but never my wallet. Had to purchase a second one after forgetting it was in my wallet at the airport.

The magnifying glass on this thing is pretty much just a waste of space. It's too small to actually see through well. The raised numbers for the ruler are hard to see since they are black on black.

3.0 out of 5 stars Almost... May 21, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase
This credit card companion is ok, but I much prefer the Victorionix. I bought this one because it was less expensive and I thought the knife feature looked more usable. It is more usable, but the unit does not have other features that I loved about my Victorionix (which someone admired so much that I gave it to them). Anyway, decent product as far as it goes, a little clunky to really fit in a wallet.

3.0 out of 5 stars Really Not As Useful As You Think October 19, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase
I purchased this item as a gift for my father, and I have to say, I was very, very disappointed with a few things:
1.) The online description for this item was inaccurate, listing more tools that the actual product has, and
2.) The quality of most of the tools that ARE included are well below average. I.e.- the tweezers, which are plastic and don't work at all, and the compass, which doesn't point anywhere consistently.

I wanted my Dad to have a small tool that gave him a few gadgets that would be useful which wasn't a pocket knife. Needless to say, I feel I've wasted money on this, and I'm still continuing my search for a better suited product that is actually as advertised.

The only reason I am giving this three stars instead of two or even one is the blade, which is the ONLY quality thing on this. It's sharp, durable, and easy to hold unless you have big hands. Maybe Tool Logic should stick to knifes- they seem to know what they're doing, there.

1.0 out of 5 stars Almost useless October 21, 2011
By Iwamaki
The knife is marginally useful but the rest isn't. The worst feature is the can/bottle opener. It's so small it's almost impossible to get a grip on it. I tried to use it to pop off a bottle cap, but it just punched through the top of the cap and there was no leverage after that.
Get a Swiss army knife!

1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless September 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
Completely worthless! Bottle and can opener function does not work at all. the tooth pick which broke the first time I took it out, Really? It would have been better if they just put a straight pin there instead. The compass is completely off and hard changes at all. The blade, it would better without the serrations. Nearly impossible to hold properly. the Fresnel lenses does work for fire starting and reading topographical maps. The only reasons I rate this a One star. is because that's the default setting for "hate it". Definitively returning this product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Half useful January 25, 2012
I got this Tool Logic Credit Card Companion for Christmas. Half of the items it comes with is useful, the other half not. I like the knife very much. It's the best part of the set.

KNIFE: Very nice. It's sharp and shaped so I can get a good grip.

COMPASS: Doesn't work. North is any old direction.

MAGNIFYING LENS: It magnifies, but it's so small it's useless.

TWEEZERS: Not bad. I can pluck a few hairs in a pinch.

TOOTHPICK: Sharp and works.

CAN/BOTTLE OPENER: Can't get enough leverage to use it. It's too small.

AWL: It's a point on the end of the can opener. What would I do with it? Too small to be useful.

FLATHEAD SCREWDRIVER: It won't work if the screw is recessed or the head is small. It can be useful in some situations, though.

RULER: Measures to 6 centimeters and 3 inches on the back of the gadget.

The whole thing is pretty cheap. The compass will not point north to save your life. I think the only useful thing would be the blade (barely) and maybe the magnifier as a fire... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Nope. Don't do it.
Good idea, they don't pull it off. The knife is cool, it's decent. It's just clunky and not what I wanted. The compass is crap. Pass.

Very convenient, works great. Many practical uses. It's one less thing I have to remember when I leave the house. Compass could be better but I don't use it that often.

This was a multi-tool for my wife to carry with her, for emergencies. She has already had occasion to use it, when her car broke down. Not a calamity, but still very useful.

Good concept, bad quality. The compass don't point north, and its hard to get leverage with the knife. You're better off getting a low end leatherman.
