This review is from: Tool Logic SL6 Rescue Tool With 1/2 Serrated Knife, LED Flashlight, Seatbelt Cutter and Window Breaking Punch, Black (Tools & Home Improvement)
As a member of a group for jungle survival and mountain explorations, I decided to buy this ``multi-tool-knife`` as a complement for my survival and first aid kits .
This product combines several things that are necessary in emergencies, such as: "A powerful whistle. "A flashlight that can light up a room or vehicle, although it seems small it works very well, and brings spare batteries, also it's waterproof. "A device to break the windows of a car. Or any other glass. "The folding knife to cut clothing or rope without compromising the integrity of the victim, the knife is very sharp and safe to use. It is lightweight, has a clip to carry in your pocket, and the size is ideal because it is unobtrusive but functional. It looks well constructed and durable. It has a lanyard hole. Overall a good product for those who want to be prepared. The price is very reasonable and I recommend it because I think is a good quality product with many advantages.

Useful Tool To Have,

This review is from: Tool Logic SL6 Rescue Tool With 1/2 Serrated Knife, LED Flashlight, Seatbelt Cutter and Window Breaking Punch, Black (Tools & Home Improvement)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
Unlike the multi-purpose swiss army knife, the Tool Logic SL6 Rescue Tool has a small list of uses: a seatbelt/line cutter, waterproof LED flashlight, signal whistle, and a window punch. So far I've tested all of them, except for the window punch.
For the seatbelt/line cutter, I was able to test it on a spare seatbelt harness and on various cords. The blade is razor sharp and cut through both of these with ease. As regards the LED flashlight, I held it underwater for a few minutes and turned it on and off. It worked as advertised, so I'm satisfied with that feature. While not extremely bright, the beam is sufficient enough to help find dropped items in the dark or to dimly light a path at night. One thing that should be noted is that the light is activated by turning the flashlight head, but if you keep turning the head, it will unscrew and expose the battery and could potentially allow water to get into the casing. The whistle is located on the knife handle and when blown is fairly loud; it would definitely get someone's attention. To test it, I blew it across a large clearing that's approximately two football fields in length and my wife heard it with no problem. Overall, I'd say this is a good product and works exactly as advertised. It's light, compact and comfortable in my hands. I hope I never have an emergency that requires its use, but it's good to know that I have it available if needed.

I'm not a knife guy. I live in an urban area, and don't really like the idea of carrying around a deadly weapon. I have all the natural weapons I need (flexes)But I like this knife, it's dull on the tip so nobody is going to get stabbed, and no police office would write you a ticket - it's purely for driving safety. You can cut seatbelts, smash windows, blow the whistle for help, or use the flashlight (which can be held in your mouth!) for tire changes and minor repairs. It's a great little knife and I feel safer having it in my car.

I got this through the Amazon Vine program because it just looked too cool not to get. It is supposed to be a life saving tool to have in your car if you happen to drive off of a bridge or something. I haven't had a chance yet to try it out in that capacity...
The flashlight just pulls out of the side opposite the seatbelt cutter. One end of the flashlight is a flash light, the other end is the window punch. The flashlight is a little tough to pull out of the cavity it's kept in next to the seat-belt cutter. You have to pull it out to get to the window punch...so, I think if I were in a panic I would be fumbling to get it out. The flashlight is very bright and twists/turns off and on. I haven't had an opportunity to try the window punch anywhere yet...but it looks hard and I can imagine it would break a window if you smashed it in to one. I also haven't cut any seatbelts off recently, but I have used the hooked seatbelt cutter to cut a few other things (tape/boxes) and it seems to work well enough. Honestly this is a pretty specific tool, so I would recommend it any paranoids or paranoid friends out there. Anyone who is in danger of being in a car sinking underwater would also benefit. Additionally it would be a good tool for breaking into your house at night should you get locked out. Although it is pretty bulky so I can't imagine keeping it in my pocket everyday just in case.

I really like that the flash light is very bright. I keep this in my glove compartment of my car. I honestly think that would be the best place for it, with all the different gadgets on it. The knife is very sharp, and the whistle is pretty loud. I didn't check to see if it will break any windows, but since everything else worked pretty good, I will take their word for it. I think it is reasonably priced for what it is supposed to be used for. My 17 yr. old son has already asked to borrow it. He needed the flashlight, and told me that for a little flash light it was pretty powerful.

While I have been lucky enough to not need to actually use this device in an emergency, it does seem to be very useful and durable. It is made well and I don't fear that it will fail me if/when I need it. It is small enough to stash away, but has a nice handful of features. The flashlight on it is super bright and will prove useful if ever stranded in the middle of the night or if otherwise needing some sort of light at night. It would be great for catching someone's attention in the darkness as well, even from a great distance since it is so bright. It is also waterproof so that is a big plus. The device has a knife to cutaway rope, garments, or seatbelt if trapped, as well as an end to break your car window glass if trapped. There is a whistle which I did try out and it is quite loud and will definitely grab someone's attention! This little device is well worth the money. It is never a bad idea to be prepared!

This is not your every day swiss army knife with dozens of uses. It is in fact, ideal for car accident escapes. The seatbelt cutter, flashlight, and glass cracker tool are all designed with that purpose in mind. Some reviewers criticized the lack of functionality of the tool, but if you understands its purpose and limitations, you won't be disappointed.
I recommend keeping this someplace -within reach- in your car, such as an ash tray or center console. If you get in a serious wreck, it won't do you much good to try and reach for the glove compartment from the driver's seat if airbags have deployed, or your seatbelt is locked. I docked it one star because it felt a little bit clumsy to use most of the functions. If I find myself in a true emergency I don't want to have to fumble with a knife lock, and finnicky flashlight. Those seconds count, and using a tool designed for those situations should be effortless.

I live in the wilderness really...so thought I could take this with me on hiking trips and also keep in my car for any other emergencies that might occur. The seat belt cutter is on the end of the knife so that really limits the ability to use the knife in a lot of situations, although it cut cardboard it was not as easy as I thought it would be, however the serrated edge is sharp to the touch..I cut my finger just showing someone.
The flashlight is aggravating..there's no switch, you move the head left and right to turn it on. I thought I left it on by accident because I couldn't get the flashlight to come on, but eventually I fidgeted with it long enough and it did work. The light is bright enough to find things in a dark car or to even light the path if you are lost in the dark in the woods..as I tried it and it was sufficiently bright enough, but if you really need it , you will start to panic when it doesn't come on immediately. The whistle works well and would come in handy to scare off a coyote or wild dog. I'll just leave it in my glove box in the car, in the rare instance I might need to break a windshield or cut a seatbelt.

I now carry this in my car in my center console. I hope and expect I never need to use it, but it's there just in case. Well manufactured and appears strong. Punch can be extracted swiftly in an emergency. Only limitation is that I wish it had a regular blade in addition to the "pull to cut" blade for use on seat belts. Never know when you may need a sturdy edge in an emergency. Mind you, it came exactly as described and I feel much better with it by my side.

The compact size of this rescue tool makes it more likely the driver will have it with her if she ever needs to break a window or cut a seatbelt to rescue herself or someone else after an accident. However, it will only be helpful if the user has taken it out of the package, read the instructions in detail, and practiced accessing the tools (and perhaps even cutting some old webbing!) before an actual crisis occurs.
