5.0 out of 5 stars Great review of recent western saddlery and metal arts, October 3, 1999

This review is from: Tools of the Cowboy Trade: Today's Crafters of Saddles, Bits, Spurs, and Trappings (Paperback)
This is a very fine book. The text is interesting, well written, and, for a change, not apologetic about the west. The descriptions of the saddlemakers and smiths, and the history of their rise in the craft is really worthwhile. The photographs are superb. They provide an opportunity to really look over the work, you can almost run your fingers over the leather or silver. If you don't often get to those palces ike Pendleton, Elko, or Calgary you will realy appreciate the chane to see this work, and if you are like me, an amateur leathercrafter, these saddlers represent the zenith of the craft. At the price you cannot reaaly afford not to have this volume. One note to the authors....more please
