I was very disappointed with this product. VERY. everything I learned in this $9 book, I learned on YouTube for free. I bought the book for hopes of more detail and clarity on how to make a more professional looking rag rug but mainly to learn HOW to increase around the edges so that it doesnt look sloppy or have holes but it doesnt cover how to increase stitches at all! The likelyhood that someone will actually make a rug even similar to the picture on the cover is slim to none. Then the disclaimer in the back of book... "We cannont be responsible for human error" the instruction is this book doesnt give someone enough information to avoid creating an error. complete waste of money.

I was expecting instructions for various types of toothbrush rag rugs. What you get is possibly 2 pages of poorly written instructions of an oval rag rug.

The directions are poorly written with unclear illustrations. I expected more ideas and pattern variations and clear instructions on how to start the center of the rug, the most difficult part for a beginner. It is worth $1 and no more.

Simple and easy to understand instructions, makes this book a helpful read for those who wants to make their own rag rugs. If you want different techniques, look elsewhere but if you haven't made your first, this is the easiest method taught not found elsewhere. How-to books should be written like this to keep readers focused and get straight to it. Excellent!

Stitching and knitting of various types was a common practice in the home where I was brought up six decades ago. So much so that even I, a boy, used to do some of it for fun thought stitching was considered a woman's preserve. That is because when an activity is seen as fun, everyone gets interested in it and everyone reaps the benefits.

Unfortunately such activities became extinct in the nineteen eighties and after, mostly because of the 'disruptive innovations' that made life easy but which also took away most of the home-based fun activities like stitching, fabric painting, and making home-made decoration items.

We need to discover these arts and crafts. We need to bring them back into our homes because not only do they give great mental satisfaction, but they also bind the family together. The family that works together has great reasons to stay together. Thus I am pleased to recommend this book by Ruglady.

She has introduced the method of making what she calls the "Toothbrush Rag Rug". Using easily available material you would be able to make the first oval rug in a few hours, but the next ones much faster than that. What is more, gradually you will learn how to make numerous colorful designs with ease and at minimal cost -- when you learn to discover knitting material from very cheap sources.

The book does not contain multiple design ideas or anything of that sort. Such things are left to your creativity. Please note that the book contains only the method of making Toothbrush Rag Rug, and does it well and I am satisfied to have read it. Why, I am even thinking of making my own rugs this week itself -- the only delay being the time needed to get the supplies.

I was disappointed in the basic content, illustrations appear very primary and small on my Kindle. It is hard to see them. And the price of almost $10.00 for a book that is like 11 pages long....
