I used this product off and on since the first time I was pregnant (16 years ago) when I developed issues with regular tooth paste. The inside of my mouth would peel and develop sores when I used mint toothpaste. I kept trying to go back to regular tooth paste that could be found in any store, but I am to the point that I was developing gum disease from the irritation of first the mint and then some other component of the paste.Children's toothpaste was useless for getting my teeth clean and eventually I had issues with it as well, so I tried this product. It works great! It leaves my teeth feeling clean and polished; and no sores or peeling tissues in my mouth. The powder fizzes up just enough to give a little lather as it quickly dissolves on a wet toothbrush and with the saliva in your mouth. My dentist is impressed with the job this powder does and I haven't had any problems with gum disease since I have stuck with using this powder. He did say that he would be concerned about fluoride if I were a child, but since I have good strong teeth he isn't worried about the lack of fluoride. There is bottled fluoridated water if you feel that you need it. The taste is salty (because of the baking soda in it) and the lime only improves on that slightly, but I have gotten used to it and no longer mind it at all. Not that it was that bad to begin with, but it is an acquired taste. However, given how well this tooth powder works, it was well worth the short adjustment period of a few uses to acquire the taste. I seem to remember not liking the taste of regular toothpaste either in the beginning. Another positive aspect of this product is that it doesn't leave toothpaste "stains" on your clothes if it happens to drip onto your shirt. If it does drip onto your clothes, it just dries into a powder that brushes right off. It also travels well without upsetting the TSA folks since it is a dry powder in a semi-clear bottles. I do wish that it came in a larger container that I could dip my toothbrush into so that I don't "puff" so much extra onto the bathroom sink when I am putting it on the toothbrush. The bottom line: Positives Great for anyone sensitive to the components of regular toothpaste. Good for air travel because it isn't counted as a liquid. Does a fantastic job of cleaning your teeth. It doesn't cause those temporary white marks on your clothes if it drips on your shirt. Good for using where you don't have water available. My 2 oz. bottle has lasted about 6 months. Cons If fluoride is important to you, try another Eco-dent product. The taste is.... different from traditional toothpaste, but bearable. Applying it to your toothbrush by "puffing" it on seems wasteful. I recommend this product heartily.

This product cleans your teeth really well. It's slightly abrasive, but doesn't seem to much that it would wear your enamel down (check with your dentist before using, mine gave it green light).It doesn't take much just a few 'poof's of the bottle on the wet brush. You can work up a slight lather while brushing, but nothing that makes you look like a rabid dog. My only recommendation is to try the mint or other flavors because the lime taste like the Sourpatch Kids lime candy.
