The manufacturer's web site says this is not capable of stereo. "Awesome" review? No one cares that it's mono? I see no mention of stereo, but shouldn't it be mentioned in the description, maybe in BOLD RED LETTERS, that this is mono only?

At its full power of 200mw, I get coverage of my small home and deck with a good signal. I don't have a multistory house so I can't say how it would do in that case.

Pros:
1. adjustable power output from 0 to 200mw
2. coverage of small foot print house like mine is very good---might be same for a larger house with multiple stories.
3. everything you need comes in the box: whip antenna, power brick, car cigarette lighter power plug.
4. digital display showing: power output and frequency you are on.
5. power adjustable via up/down pb
6. frequency setting is digital--no drift! -- via up/down pbs for the entire FM band, not just a segment of the FM band.
7. I think the sound quality is very good.

cons:
No stereo, but at a 200mw or less power, unless you're on top of the transmitter, a stereo signal would have lots of noise anyway. Mono channels are always low noise at low power.

Other:
The unit is credit card small, very light weight, plastic case. The digital display will go out after a few seconds so that in operation, the unit is 'dark' except for the small blue power on LED on the side of the unit...see the picture. The power jack, and the audio jack are on the same side--the left as you view the digital display. And the antenna jack is on the left as well.

Overall: This is a good product. The case is black plastic. I've used other lower power FM units and find this one to be very good step up indeed. The digital display, digital tuning--no drift--, are excellent technical features. Caution: If you must have stereo, but want larger range, go for a higher powered product..but you will then end up covering your neighborhood. I use this in a 'fixed location' plugged into the AC, so I can't say how it would do in a car or on battery power.

This product works as advertised for me and provides Wifi music from my iPod thoughout our 3500 SF, 3 story house. You have to juggle the sound volume on both the tranmsitter and FM receiver to get the right mix and minimize background hum, but you can achieve a high fidelity of sound. I have placed inexpensive AM/FM radios in our guest bedrooms and now every room can have music piped in. It is way cool to walk from the basement to the second story and feel bathed in music.

I LIVE IN A 30 YEAR OLD HOME AND BOUGHT THE TRANSMITTER TO "HIT" THE 3 SETS OF SPEAKERS I HAVE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. THE HOUSE IS OVER 3000 SQ FOOT AND THIS TRANSMITTER HAS NO PROBLEM REACHING ANYWHERE THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE, OR ALMOST MY WHOLE PROPERTY (2 ACRES)! I CAN GET A SIGNAL IN MY VAN OVER 400 FT AWAY FROM THE MOBILE BLACK BOX INSIDE! I ALSO USE THIS IN MY CAR AND IT WORKS AS EXPECTED. IT HAS A MICROPHONE INPUT, SO WE'LL BE USING IT WHEN WE TRAVEL TO BROADCAST TO THE WHOLE CARAVAN! WHAT A PERFECT WAY!

We bought this item a year ago, and in spite of the incredible description of this product's capabilities on the manufacturer's website we found it a little unimpressive when we took it out of the box. It felt cheaply made, and that quickly proved true. Though it was mounted on the wall and entirely untouched the brass fixture that attaches the antenna to the device quickly came loose. The company refused to return our money but was good enough to exchange the device.

We then mounted it very carefully and avoided touching it as much as possible, yet in spite of this over the last year it has continually gotten worse. When brand new we could listen to broadcasts across the house and upstairs - through several walls! Now, with fresh batteries, even a radio just three feet away can pick up little more than static with a hint of a tune in the background. I've tried changing batteries, switching cables, and other tricks. Nothing works.

I would STRONGLY encourage potential buyers to save their money!

I enjoyed it while it worked from 5/2008 until 4/2009. Not a heavy user of the transmitter so I was surprised when it stopped working. Only option was to send it back and pay $45 for repair service. I have lost faith in the durability of the product. I asked the manufacturer if it were possible to send it back for credit for an upgrade to their newer stereo model and was told that a $45 like-for-like is my only option.

I never knew there was a product on the market that could transmit at this range with such great clarity. The transmitter I previously owned could only work in my car, and unlike with my Black Box, there was always random static. Now I'm able to listen to my iPod throughout my entire condo as if there was a direct connection to any of my speakers, and easily take it with me to enjoy my music on the road. And since it's so small, I can tuck it in my pocket wherever I go! This user-friendly product is a definite must-have for anyone.

It's the tiny box that roars: the V6000 transmits a full-range audio signal from my laptop audio output to radios around the house (including a Tivoli Model One), even at low power levels. I had to dial down the range lest I become a neighbourhood broadcaster! With AC, USB, AAA battery options, mike and line inputs and four presets for desirable frequencies and power levels, you can't beat the performance of this black box. It's only likely competitor is the CCrane model (which I haven't tried) but if you don't mind a clean, albeit mono, sound (and why should you?), this is a terrific buy.

One star for the moment only because Amaazon needs to fix the display/entry on this item. It shows a box of envelopes, and the description talks about paper/envelopes. but technical details are for the transmitter. I hope the correct item arrives. otherwise, it will be a very expensive box of envelopes. When it arrives, I will edit or delete my review (if that is possible).

The first unit received did not work at all. Slow customer response. 10 days later got a second one. Still does not work. Spending last week or so trying to get a resolution. Now I see it is not stereo. Ouch!!! Find another solution.
