Autoweek magazine recommended it and now my husband can't put it down. We're going to have to buy a second Gameboy - our daughter misses hers!

No Music?,

I love this game--the first I bought with my GBA SP. Regarding car believability, compare to GT Advance 3 Pro Concept which has the worst sprite-like autos. I swear I can see the image jerk when I go into a turn on that game. You wont have that problem here. And the environments can be great--half the fun of a good rally game.
One thing, and I may have just not found it, but one registered racer can run a track in championship mode and when the times are displayed the times of the other players who have played that track ARE NOT shown. there may be a way to access these time rankings but I havent seen it yet. Another thing: There is no music in my cart except while Im preparing for a race. No music while Im racing. Is this just an anomaly with my cart? Surely this isnt right?

the bumper view is unbelievable great! the control gives the sense of rally driving. teriffic drifting, and fits for the one-finger-two-button GBA platform as well. tracks are pretty lengthy. each stage takes 1:30 to 2:00. limited but very effective custom settings will not take you too long to enjoy the driving. it worth to buy a $99 GBAsp just for this game!

Top Gear Rally is a very good game. The game has excellent graphics and good cars. All except for the fact that the terrain is the same in most tracks it is almost the best game I ever bought.

If you are new to the rally concept, or the Top Gear series, then this is not the game for you. This game can also be very frusrurating to younger players. If you have played other Top Gear titles, you would probably enjoy this game. The game is very challenging, and the races are relatively short. The real-world physics are great, and there's lots of cars and tracks to keep you busy for a long time. Overall, this is a great addition to the Top Gear series.

I love racing games and this is not a disappointment. The graphics are pretty good and the controls are smooth. The custom car settings really matter and this game is not easy to beat. Definitely use the in-car view because the "behind car" view is almost impossible and a little disorienting. Some of the courses are very difficult in bright light (typical for the GBA even the SP). Might not be worth full price but has many features and lots of re-playability

Best GBA Racing Game I've Found!,

I've done Need For Speed: Porshce Unleashed, which was pretty good, but not as challenging; GT (a Japanese version), really lame; GT Advance, fair; GT Advance 3, pretty good, but poor graphics and low realism; Mario Karts, actually the most fun before I tried Top Gear Rally, although very low on realism. Top Gear Rally is by far the best, yet. The graphics are excellent (as far as GBA goes), the physics are very good, and the game is quite challenging. I like racing games that let me sit in the car. That's how I drive a real car, so that's how I want to drive a virtual car. Need For Speed gives me only the in-car option. GT Advance only shows the outside view. Top Gear offers a choice. I don't particularly like the music in some of the other games - it gets really annoying after the 50th time. The fact that Top Gear has no music while driving is not a problem for me. I prefer to hear my engine revs so I don't have to watch the tach or speedometer. The little pseudo-map in the corner is pretty useless to me. I'd rather have a full course map, or at least a larger section map, like GT Advance, but this is a rally, not a closed course, so the map thing is generally worthless.
There are some limitations, but I think they are acceptable. For instance, the game obviously has no graphics for the rear view of anything. There is no rear view mirror and when the car spins past a certain angle, the view pulls out from in-car to above and behind until you get the car turned around. I think this is a good trade for the better graphics. Aside from the racing aspects, Top Gear Rally is a very well put together game. The general user interface is excellent. I can punch through all the splash screens to get right to the game. I wish all games were like this. The options and menus are simple and easy to figure out. It just looks and feels professionally made, unlike some games that seem like they were written by amateurs. I have spent a lot of time with Top Gear Rally, and I have only scratched the surface. I keep coming back for another try. This is the game I pull out of the dozens in my bag. I guess that's the best recommendation.

This is the sweetest game! You can earn cool cars as you advance through the levels! The levels are challenging, fun, and exciting! If you are a racing fan who is disopointed with GBA's poor graphics for their race car games try this out.
The graphics aren't as good as PC but for GBA they are good.

After checking out this game online and in stores I thought it would definitly be a good buy. Man was i wrong. This game is average in my opinion. IT SUCKS IN 1 WAY AND ROCKS IN ANOTHER. It the first game for GBA I've seen to have chanionship, time, etc. modes but the graphics aren't so good and it's like impossible!!!!
