The only time I've ever been disappointed with DK guides
on October 17, 2013
The best thing about DK Eyewitness guides usually is the rich visual experience you get from tons of beautiful photographs along with interesting facts and all sorts of information about the places you're planning to visit. Not so with this guide. I bought the Kindle version for my iPad and it has to be the most disappointing guidebook purchase I've ever made.
Virtually no photos. This is not inspiring me to travel to Iceland - I need to see where I'm going! Enlarge the few that are included and they're low resolution and very fuzzy. Many are not much bigger than a postage stamp! Website information for attractions is given, but if you want to use this guidebook offline when you're traveling, that's not much use unless you have internet access.
Considering the richness of most good travel apps, this is very poor. Considering the beauty and richness of hardcopy DK Eyewitness guides, (I just counted my collection, I have 15 and they are all amazing) this guide should not even carry the name.
Pull your socks up Dorling Kindersley - you need to live up to your own tag line "The guides that show you what others only tell you" which I noticed is absent from this guide.
